Guardians of The Lambsfoot!

There are folks who still say thee and thine here! 😁
I will thank thee not to make sport of us.
With my usual impeccable timing, I had a freak injury this afternoon, pulling out a can of red kidney beans, from an awkward spot underneath a couple of slabs of canned tomatoes. I dislocated the inner end of my clavicle some years back, and it's my collar bone and shoulder that are hurting. I thought a hot bath might help, but it was very painful to get out. Hoping it'll be ok tomorrow, otherwise I might have to go to the hospital, and a Bank Holiday Weekend is really not a time to visit a British hospital! 😱
Sorry to hear that, Jack. It seemeth we get hurt easier at our age. Hope thou art better tomorrow.

After checking online, I got a taxi to St James Hospital in Leeds, known as 'Jimmy's'. They booked me in, but said I'd have to go to the Minor Injuries Unit at Leeds General Infirmary, the last open in the city. I ordered another taxi, but it was sent to the wrong wing, so I ended up having to walk there, to catch up with the taxi. On arrival at the LGI, I was told that the MIU doesn't open until 9am, so me and Wee Staggy have a 25 minute wait 🙄

Oh Jack, I do hope you find some relief soon.🥺
Thanks a lot Bob, hope it doesn't affect my limbo dancing this weekend! 😵‍💫
Thank you Jack. Nice Unity you have! The tang stamp on mine doesnt have England in it so I'm assuming it was made before 1890-91.

Beautiful Albers Lamb! 🤠
Thank you David 🙂 Remember that was an American law, not a British one, so only those companies who were selling knives to the USA bothered to change their tang stamp, (and even then there are exceptions). That doesn't apply in this case. I don't think mine has 'England' on either 👍
Afternoon Guardians! Still hotter than blazes here. Some Bog Oak today.

LOL! Thanks buddy, you're right, I barely had an injury during the first 40 years of my life! 🙄 I originally dislocated my clavicle taking my keys off my belt! 😖
Hey, look what my wife bought me:

Interesting true story about a whaler being sunk by a whale. An inspiration for Moby Dick, I believe. Looking forward to reading it.
That is one heck of a story Vince! 🫣 It was BBC Radio 4's Book of the Week about 15 years ago, and I found it quite enthralling 👍
You're welcome, Dan. I've read Moby Dick multiple times--fascinating book. Just poured me the last of my Father's Day Ardbeg Corryvreckan to start the book with. May have to get some rum!
You may need that rum! 😱 😉👍

Thanks Bob, I did make a point of telling them that the last time I was at that hospital, they misdiagnosed a broken tendon, which caused me to have a slightly disabled left hand! Thankfully, no broken bones or further dislocations, but of course the X-rays don't show soft tissue injuries, which is what it was diagnosed as. I think I might have to hang up my limbo shorts, and get drunk! 😁😉👍

Yeah, back in the 90"s, I once had to wait for 12 hours in a London hospital, after breaking a couple of ribs. That was just to get a brief examination 🙄 Nice choices for the weekend Jer 👍

Thanks buddy, once they found out there wasn't a bone broken, which I never thought there was, they just shrugged it off as a 'soft tissue injury'. Yeah, no s#@£ Sherlock! 🤔👍
Hope you don't get this guy:

LOL! 😁 Really nice young doctor, but not really that much help 🙄 I'm glad that my clavicle is ONLY dislocated at one end though! 😖
