They were often tool box knives, judging from the amount I come across, which are covered in paint!Afternoon Guardians! Looks like everyone is off to a good start to the week. Got a Bex Lamb today. I've had it a while but been slowly cleaning it up. When I got it it looked like it had spent a few decades in the bottom of someone's grungy tool box. The blade is made of that good old Sheffield steel.

It wasn't a pattern I know I needed till I had 1
I decided I need 1 in wood.
This arrived before lunch. A simple 4" A Wright in rosewood. I picked it up cheap with postage thrown in. Lambsfoot are as rare as hens teeth in Australia. I haven't seen another 4 for awhile. There used to be another dealer but he passed years ago & the business is not the same.
Any way I digress back to knife in hand. The fit & finish is not bad. I like the rosewood, they seem to be getting rarer. As the smaller 1s are listed in Ekki, African wood. The grinds are reasonable & pretty sharp. The pivot will need a clean & oil. For what I paid I'm happy & will make a good user.

I love Rosewood, it is just so underrated. You may be correct about it becoming rarer. I have one in a really light shade, just fantastic, but cannot get that anymore.
