Guardians of The Lambsfoot!

Then there were 3.
I blame Jack Jack Black Jack Black & Bob Rufus1949 Rufus1949 πŸ˜‰πŸ˜Š It wasn't a pattern I know I needed till I had 1😊 I decided I need 1 in wood.
This arrived before lunch. A simple 4" A Wright in rosewood. I picked it up cheap with postage thrown in. Lambsfoot are as rare as hens teeth in Australia. I haven't seen another 4 for awhile. There used to be another dealer but he passed years ago & the business is not the same.
Any way I digress back to knife in hand. The fit & finish is not bad. I like the rosewood, they seem to be getting rarer. As the smaller 1s are listed in Ekki, African wood. The grinds are reasonable & pretty sharp. The pivot will need a clean & oil. For what I paid I'm happy & will make a good user.

Congratulations Mitch, that looks good :) Oil the joint, and give it a good blow out with some canned air, get all the soot out! :D ;)
Thanks pal. You live on a lovely street in a magnificent city Jack.
πŸ‘
Thank you Dwight, it's a very friendly street :)

Good morning Guardians, how is everyone? I felt tired when I went to bed last night, but slept even worse than the previous night, I didn't get a wink! I feel rougher than a badger's backside today, and I dare say I'll be snoring away on the sofa before the morning is out  Wee Staggy has heard me snoring before thankfully! ;) :d Have a good day Guardians

Thanks Steve, it's one of those things that comes and goes unfortunately πŸ™„πŸ‘

I'm headed to the post office with another parcel, didn't realise it was raining until I stepped out πŸ™„ I called in Charlie's, and decided to have some lunch. I have to say that while the coffee and pastries are wonderful, the food here isn't great πŸ™„πŸ‘

How do you like it so far? The 4" one is still my favorite after trying both sizes now. It's just very... very sturdy, strong and snappy. Locks up like it's a fixed blade! Very smooth after breaking it in.

One of these days it'll probably get a little notch to help pinch the blade open a bit easier.

The only problem is that I'm afraid to really beat it up. I like it too much.

You don't find the Big 'Un easy to pinch open Rick? If not, it'll probably get easier with use. The difference between the pull on my two Hartshead Barlows, (the stag model carried very regularly, the rosewood one, much less so), is quite striking

It's cold and wet here today, in very marked contrast to yesterday, and I read that we might even see some snow soon! Time to get my winter woollens back out again it seems  I made it to the post office with the parcel of candy I was shipping, but postage is getting crazy here, cost three times the value of the contents! Hope everyone is having a good day, me and Wee Staggy are dreaming of warmer climes ;) Looking forward to my Christmas break :)

It's good right now. I can get it just fine but it would be nice if there was just a little more to grab. It's a strong one!

Between the three I've accumulated, the two lambs are similar and very nice to open after breaking them in. Strong and firm. The other is a pattern we shall not speak of... and it's borderline floppy. Very weak.

A dremel sanding drum does an easy-open notch easily.

Not that I had much to lose at this point.

The blade must be set low. There are ways of lightening the pull, (see the thread index)

Ugh! Nothing worse!
Good morning all !

Great pic Steve
Thanks for the reminder Jer. I just gave one away because it was a nail breaker. It even sat with half opened spring in wd 40 for a week.
That doesn't do much in my experience Bob, but check out the thread index if you ever get another you struggle with
