Guardians of The Lambsfoot!

Feller once told me this (below) was impossible to open, and here it is straight out of the envelope he returned it in

Speaking as a person with lady-hands and weak nails, I've not had any problem opening any Lambsfoot knife I've handled. I think it's because the nail nicks tend to be far enough away from the pivot to give some leverage, and my grip strength is adequate for pinching. From what I've read, I expect I'd have trouble with the secondary on a two bladed Lambsfoot, though.

I've found a patina helps get a good grip when pinching the blade open. :)

Sound advice & I do like a good patina. Although the wife stirs & says, what happened to the shiney blade😳😃

It's doing pretty well in that area. It was just touched up, cleaned and lubed yesterday so all of the really dark stuff is gone for now.

I can just get a hold of the blade like this picture below. The nail nick is sharp enough to act as a grip. I don't really use my nail. Go figure. Stubborn I guess.

Very nice!

The biggest help (other than opening and closing it repeatedly) was sanding the corner of the tang right here. It really made the pull nice and smooth opening.

I guess they are all different. The 3.5" rosewood I just got is fine right out of the box. This large bone one needed some time and is now perfect.

Thanks Barrett. Loved the stadium pics. Amazingly huge!

Thanks, Dwight. It was definitely impressive. It’s funny, the capacity is about the same as Razorback Stadium, but it has been several years since I’ve been to a game there.

Great pic, Jeremy. I didn’t know you were a bass player (or maybe I did and I’m just forgetful.)

Yeah, I like those big, deep nail nicks, and patina definitely makes a difference 👍

Thanks Barrett. I’m not a GOOD bass player but I play anyway.

They are very rare, but both have been seen on the Lambsfoot pattern, though not a full EO notch, so far as I recall. There's a reason for that, they should not be necessary, and in my personal opinion, can look ugly. A couple of gents here have taken an alternative approach, which, in both cases, is much more aesthetically pleasing I think :)
No apologies, no regrets.
Except I regret buying the knife, and not sending it back, and not deleting the pen blade in the first place instead of trying to save it. And not remembering the dealer so I'd know not to shop there again.
