I know that situation well Jack. The flooding has to be horrible for the residents.
When I was young, flooding was an annual occurrence. I would row around the neighborhood and could fish.

Sorry to hear that Bob, it must be an awful experience (fishing aside) It used to be very rare indeed most places here, but is now increasingly common

Yay! Great news Bob I am losing out to a hip op tomorrow, as my mate Wolfie, who I usually meet up with on Fridays, is travelling across the country, to look after his mother-in-law, who is having a hip-hop today. You may wonder why her daughter isn't going, but it'd be kinder to send Barry!

I'm very disappointed John, particularly as I had bought some accessories for it, and spent several hours watching videos They have offered to exchange it, but I think I'm just going to get a refund

Yes, until recently, it was the tallest building in Yorkshire, built about 15 years ago - pretty disastrously I remember calling it 'The Dalek' before I'd heard anyone else use the name, but the resemblance is hard not to spot I must have dozens of photos of it, probably even some including a Lambsfoot, but I have so many pics, it's like trying to find a needle in a haystack! Hopefully, you can see why it's called 'The Dalek'

I hope everyone is having a good day. It's never stopped raining here unfortunately, so the market was wet, cold, but not entirely miserable! Tool Man was happy with his sammich (which he followed immediately, with a large Bear Claw)!

The tool stall was a bit more back to normal in terms of the stock

Barry The Ted has been building a crossbow for about 2 years, and keeps us all updated each week, and at considerable length. He eschews popular opinion in terms of crossbow manufacture ("Why do I need to use hardened steel, steel IS hard!"), use (insisting on dry-firing it several times), and the law (I just use it in the park)! Thankfully, nobody was injured at the tool stall, and I suspect Barry might be rather pleased with having a captive audience when he's doing time in one of His Majesty's penal establishments!

On the way back home, I decided to call in at Charlie's for a caffeine pick-me-up. I had thought that Sara's match-making mother had left for Italy, but she is staying a few more days, and I learned that, with no personal input whatsoever, I now have a very attractive girlfriend in Santo Domingo. Thankfully, more than 4,000 miles separate us!

My daughter has asked if I will watch Doctor Who with her, and I said "Only the Tom Baker ones!" I looked it up: 1974-1981. Sounds like a lot of episodes!

You should watch & enjoyi it, quality time. My girls don't want to watch anything any more. I used to enjoy watching scooby Doo with the youngest on a Friday night. I used to have to cook her sausage & roast potatoes.

Sadly It happens more here. It's Combo thing, stupid councils building in flood Plains & cementing everything & changing water flow, cheap builders, cement slabs straight on the ground. Most houses when I was growing up were built on piers wooden floor with crawl space underneath.
