Guardians of The Lambsfoot!

Are we grilling lamb today? 😋😁

Nah, I bought some thick pork chops that I’ve got brining right now. 😋

The Costco we used to go to sells whole lamb, but lately we’ve been going to a new Costco that’s a bit closer to us, and they don’t have the same stuff (I checked today because I was going to try and get a pic with my Lambsfoot 😁). Here’s a pic from the other Costco that I took a few years ago.

Congratulations Barrett, bet Julie and the kids are excited too! 😋 😁 I was thinking of you yesterday, when I was standing waiting at a bus-stop, and a bus pulled in carrying a side-banner for some Tolkinesque drama series pulled in. The slightly older man next to me, looked up at it, and asked me, "Why do elves always have the same bloody haircut?!" 🤣🤣👍

As much as I like Tolkien, I haven’t really looked into the new Rings of Power series yet (which I’m guessing is what you saw an ad for). Maybe I’m not over my disappointment with the Hobbit adaptation from a few years back, where they inexplicably and unnecessarily dragged a relatively short book out into three long films. 🙄

I've never used a full size Weber, but I've used a Smokey Joe for years. When this one wears out, I'll buy another one 👍👍👍

I’ve got one of those, my grandma gave it to me when I started college. Doesn’t see much use anymore, but I’ve still got it. Nice pic of your GL-24.

Thanks Barrett
Nice weber. Roast chicken and roast pork every weekend at Barrett 's place.
We bought the old man 1 back in the 80s every special occasion up until recently he'd be cooking meat the day before or in the morning of the day
Hope you make lots of traditions with the family.

Thanks, Mitch. Guardians are welcome for dinner any time! 😁 (Just give me a heads up so I can clean up after the two little tornados that live with us.) 🤣

I’d had my old Weber for 10 or 12 years, and if it weren’t for the rusted/stuck bottom vent, I think it would have lasted a lot longer. Unfortunately I think being out in the elements here in MN has been rough on it. The new one might live in the garage when not in use, although they made that tougher on my by removing one of the handles from the base of the grill sometime between when I got my old one and now. (They used to have two handles on opposite sides so you could lift the whole thing up, but now there’s only one in the front).

Alluring burl Lamb 🐑 👍 🤠

Grilled pork chops are good 🐷 One of the stores here has ground lamb sometimes. I get some once in a while.

Nicely done !
Thanks Steve !
Nice work Dan :) I keep meaning to get that rig I bought a couple of years ago, and find some use for it! Great photos
Gracias Jack !
There was some sort of aftermarket adapter for your system that would make it easier to use but I don't remember how of for what now :)
That looks like you have a doctorate in edgeology. Nice.
😆 lol Bob, thank you !
Dan has a Doctorate in EVERYTHING! 😁
😆😅😂 ! Triple lol Jack :)
Dan the edge master!
Thanks David !
I wanted to give that lamb the best edge possible !
It's not hard with a guided system once one gets used to it.

That's a wicked edge Dan. And a spooky lamb...
Gracias Dwight :)
Now this is going to give me nightmares thanks to our friend JonMcD JonMcD and his friend "AI" 😀

Your sharpening has gone to another level. The improvement in your skills is staggering. 🤯
Gracias Leon !
A guided system and a bit of patience is really all that is required.
For our basic carbon and ss steel of our traditionals I have been having great results with the PSA backed 3M aluminum oxide films. I made backing plates with pieces of glass glued over aluminum flat stock.
What’s the sharpening setup called?

Beautiful knife too my friend 👍🏼

Gracias Jack.
It is the "Leading Edge" system designed by BF sharpening guru 777 Edge 777 Edge .
It is 3D printed and assembled at home.

Jack, for the longest time I would wrap bone in breast in bacon with cheese and jalapeño pepper and bake in the oven.

Last few years I take the meat off the bone, soak in milk overnight then chop it up and mix with cheese and then stuff poblano peppers, then bake. Wife likes them better that way and the meat stays more tender.

👍🏻👍🏻🤠

It’s gone up a bunch but I’ve been impressed with the quality of work at the local store. So I keep taking things in
I agree. It's our go-to place for framing.

I've eaten my weight in those (at the fire station). :D

Looks like a great time Pete!

Yes indeed.

Lambs of a feather flock together…or something like that.

Love that pic! Think you’ll ever use either of those newer two knives to the point that they look like the older one? 😲🙂

Sorry all, I am way behind. Hope all is well. Opening day today for Dove season. Met some friends and had a blast. Birds were not flying thick but we had a few beers and laughs. 👍🏻👍🏻

Sounds like a good time, Pete. I love that first pic! 😎:thumbsup:

Exactly what I was thinking. It's a wonder the Argentine authorities didn't find Dan and drag him back on charges of brain draining the country.
🤣 🤣 👍
Lovely shot my friend :)
In honor of Barrett's btb01 btb01 new Weber grill, I decided to fire mine up. The weather's good and its Labor Day weekend. Of course there should be grilling

Have a great day Mike 😋👍

Not often they don't do anything to death mate  Good guess! :D

Looking good David :)

I saw that Dan, but having already resented the fact that the darn thing wasn't fit for purpose, a case for the system was part of the package, and since I'd already bought the case, I was even less impressed that I've have to buy a second one. I like the company's products on the whole, but was very disappointed with that one, and realised that it was something I didn't actually need anyway. Most of all, I'm unimpressed with the YouTube guys, some of whom reckon to specialise in traditional knives, who posted the most glowing reviews about a system they either hadn't used, or not used enough 🤨

Nice to see your flock growing Jack :)
That pic shows off your new Lamb nicely Mitch :)

We could do with you down Leeds market Mitch! :D I'm glad you had a good time with your mates, that's the important thing :)

Good morning Guardians, and I hope those you in the USA get to enjoy your day off, even those who already have a day off! :D I need to go into town later to take care of a few things, got a few phone calls to make this morning. Weather forecast today is cloudy all day here, so Miss Lucy wasn't too reluctant to leave her box ;) Be careful out there Guardians

Lucy is a sweetheart Jack. 👍🏻

I would name my knives, but I have a very poor memory, when trying to remember them.🥴
Getting ready for a secondary bevel, which seems to help it retain its edge.

I hope everyone has a good labor day....sorry if you have to work.
