Looking good David![]()
I saw that Dan, but having already resented the fact that the darn thing wasn't fit for purpose, a case for the system was part of the package, and since I'd already bought the case, I was even less impressed that I've have to buy a second one. I like the company's products on the whole, but was very disappointed with that one, and realised that it was something I didn't actually need anyway. Most of all, I'm unimpressed with the YouTube guys, some of whom reckon to specialise in traditional knives, who posted the most glowing reviews about a system they either hadn't used, or not used enough
Nice to see your flock growing Jack![]()
That pic shows off your new Lamb nicely Mitch![]()
We could do with you down Leeds market Mitch!I'm glad you had a good time with your mates, that's the important thing

Good morning Guardians, and I hope those you in the USA get to enjoy your day off, even those who already have a day off!I need to go into town later to take care of a few things, got a few phone calls to make this morning. Weather forecast today is cloudy all day here, so Miss Lucy wasn't too reluctant to leave her box
Be careful out there Guardians

I would name my knives, but I have a very poor memory, when trying to remember them.
Getting ready for a secondary bevel, which seems to help it retain its edge.
I hope everyone has a good labor day....sorry if you have to work.

A nice meal tonight.
Home killed corned beef, with carrots and collards from the garden and Hannah’s sour dough. Ran out of our own spuds so they’re store bought. Nearly time to plant next seasons.

Does almost everyone in your area pronounce "root" to rhyme with "foot"? Do they pronounce "roof" with that same "foot" rhyme? Do you know if they pronounce "hoof" to rhyme with "foot" (and should theyBeing a transplanted southerner living in Minnesota, my biggest complaint about root beer is hearing Minnesotans pronounce the word “root” like it rhymes with “foot.”![]()
Cool pic Gary !
Interesting photo Gary![]()
Thanks for the kind comments on my photo of LamBarJack on the manhole cover. I had my rosewood HHB with me in Cedarville last week, and saw plenty of those Neenah Foundry covers, but the photo was actually taken in Cedarville a couple of summers ago. It was soon after I had driven past East Jordan, MI the original base of East Jordan Iron Works (now an international conglomerate simply called EJ). Most of the manhole covers, storm sewer curb drains, fire hydrants, etc. where I'm from are from East Jordan Iron Works. I wondered why Cedarville manhole covers didn't come from EJIW, since the distance from East Jordan to Cedarville is less than 110 mi, while the distance from Neenah, WI to Cedarville is just over 300 mi. But then I remembered that the Mackinac Bridge connecting Michigan's 2 peninsulas opened in 1957, and if Cedarville put in their sewer system prior to that date, a shipment from East Jordan to Cedarville would have required a ferry trip across the Straits of Mackinac, which may have made the totally overland route from Neenah a cheaper alternative....
I like that pic, GT.

Whoa! Have you ever tried Killebrew Cream Soda, Barrett? Since it has "Hall of Fame Taste", I assume it's named after Hall of Fame Twins (and Senators before they moved to Twin Cities) baseball star Harmon Killebrew....
They have an even larger selection of other sodas (“cokes” as we’d call ‘em where I grew up, Minnesotans would probably say “pops”). All this, and no D&B.

Very glad you could find, recognize, and acquire that glorious old knife that Harvey used to own, Dwight! Thanks Jack. Perhaps you may remember a fellow Guardian named Harvey - he went by Cigarrodog. Harvey had a magnificent collection of vintage lambs. Sadly he passed away a while back. A great loss to the forum in general and this thread in particular. He was a very special fellow and a masterful photographer. As time went by his lambs began to show up on the "big river" site. When this wonderful old lamb appeared I immediately recognized it and was able to make the highest bid. So, the point I'm making is that this beautiful lambsfoot has much greater value to all of us here having been one of his prized lambs. There were several others "rescued" off the "big river" site by other guardians who recognized them.

I don't get a regular paycheck from work anymore, which I kind of miss, but who needs it when we get daily bonuses like that from Steve??
Jack, in that photo it looks like the flames of Dante's Inferno are raging near the butt of your GL-24!!
Maybe she's thinking of it in terms of a price based on "volume discount", Bob.My wife just says she's going to sell each of my knives for $10 apiece when I pass.
She has no idea as to the value of my pile.

Patrick, I was afraid you were going to claim that was a mouseburger made from Kitty Butty's kills!
Our mice are smarter than that, or the wires in our vehicles are just tastier than peanut butter! I love it when Butty comes running in to show off the mouse she just eliminated.
Bonus pic
