Along with most rules and regulations, it seems to always come down to the insurance companies who push for them. As a kid, I used to ride in the back of a pickup, lay on the floor of the car and no one ever wore a bicycle helmet.

I grew up on a dairy farm, and looking back at some of the things we did for work or play, I'm kind of surprised my 2 younger brothers and I made it to adulthood physically intact! There were certainly plenty of older farmers in our area who were missing body parts due to mishaps.

I think that is particularly the case when chopping or cutting down onto a board, or other hard surface

Jack, maybe the Guardians should ALL get helmets with appropriate logo that we can wear with pride anywhere and everywhere!
When I was looking for Barnitts website, I ran across several old "news items" about them downsizing their store a few years ago.

I think you're right about straight blades cutting down on boards, Jack. Most of my pocket knife use is food prep, which is exactly that type of cutting, and that's where I realized I had to use a lambsfoot differently than a bellied blade.

Thanks GT. I’ve been happy with the one (prototype) I made for myself. Keeps drinks cold for a long while (and your hands dry). Far cry from styrofoam.
