Don't get me going on the medical profession.Doctors here are a joke
Jack, are they as bad as your dentists over there? I certainly hope not, after hearing about your troubles earlier this year!I've suffered with mine 15 years now, even lifting a cup of tea is painful. Doctors here are a joke![]()

No, not by a long way Ken, but the dentists set a very low bar. I find the doctors at the hospital generally very good, it's the General Practitioners, they closed down for Covid, and never seemed to want to go back to work, something they share with the dentistsJack, are they as bad as your dentists over there? That's a fantastic shot Steve!

That story is great Duncan. I would love to meet Maisy, though I'm afraid I would end up in your shed!!What!!! That's amazing - we had oneand it was Maisy the wee girl from next door, she didn't have a costume and I was teasing her why should I give her and lollies if she hadnt dressed up as a Ghost or something - ( I loved her confidence here) "because I am amazing"!!! throwing her hands up in the air
( she and I get on great) of course I had forgotten to get some lollies, so I made her a deal, I will buy some goodies and drop them off next door to her today.
She has just turned 11, Maisy was being her little chatty self over the fence a short while back and she said " hey you have a Garden Shed like we do"
I said "yep! that's where I keep my Old people" ( just to warn you here Maisy knows my sense of humour as does her Mum and I made sure with the way I was interacting with her that she knew I was being a goon ).
Maisy: "Old people, what do you do with them? Anyway no you don't"
Duncan: Said I do! shopping is getting very expensive so I started eating Old People
Maisy: Laughing and said "No you don't Duncan"
Duncan: "I do! I wait until you guys go to bed and I have a Big Big BBQ at the back here and eat them all up"
Maisy: ( who is screeching with laughter now ) "You don't Duncan I can tell you don't"
Duncan: "How can you tell"
Maisy "'Cause there's no burnt Grass here"
Switched on little kid.
Her Mum Kathy saw me later chuckling and asked why they hadn"t been invited to any of my secret BBQ's![]()
To put a damper on things here old bugger Duncan here.Typical!

I've just poured a whisky, and you've got me wanting a cup of tea!

LOL!Wow Charlie, quite a contrast to my own situation!
There've been fireworks going off, like crazy, ever since it went dark
I was thinking it was a bit early for Guy Fawkes Night on November 5th, but then I realised it's Diwali, the Sikh Festival of Light, and there are half a dozen temples within a mile, with the biggest just down the road. I was laughing at Mrs Singh's son having grown a beard, and twirling the ends of his moustache today, but he'll be wanting to show it off down the temple!
He was telling me he's had Covid, and still feels a bit tired, and unsteady on his feet. I told him, "Never mind Covid, wait until you have to deal with old age!"
I've actually been having to do some work for the past few hours, and the constant explosions are a bit distracting
When I moved here 20-odd years, I was amazed at the Sikh fireworks, now I'm so jaded, I don't even bother looking out of the window!

Congratulations KurtThis Rosecraft lambsfoot Senator just arrived. Sandalwood covers. 3.5” with a 2.7” D2 blade sharpened very nicely and centered. I could pinch it open if I have to. Probably a 7 pull. Seems the same as other Rosecrafts I have. Has a half stop. I’m quite happy with it this past hour.
Jack Black that is a fine hot dog you had there. I like hot dogs and pictures of them too. Here’s a pic of this knife.

You finished?!To put a damper on things here old bugger Duncan here.
I hate fireworks, the fear and damage to animals is horrific, perhaps on demonstration in a town center but the rest should be totally banned, House Fires, Personal maiming and animal abuse, and not to mention the great pieces of society who wait until midnight a few weeks later in the middle of the week to let them off.
In our country- the families where Mum and Dad are on the benefit are always seen with these huge packs that cost hundreds of dollars, its literally money going up in smoke that does nothing but damage.
Right... there you go, old scrooge scringey Duncan creating a hate base against him![]()
Fireworks are now illegal in Vancouver, without a license !! And they upped the fine to $1000 for a first offense!! Too many house fires have been started!! Quietest Halloween ever this year; just some distant, commercial, well regulated displays!!When I moved here 20-odd years, I was amazed at the Sikh fireworks, now I'm so jaded, I don't even bother looking out of the window!![]()
