Guardians of The Lambsfoot!

This November on next year's calendar: Cumberland Island National Seashore in the USA. All us USAians know it well.

Funny trees- maybe down south?
You're very organised Jer, it's the 3rd, and I only just remembered to turn the page on this year's calendar! :D
Hope your eyes clear up soon, Jack. That's a beautiful knife!
Thank you very much Tyson, they're still not right, but I've been managing anyway. I'd just sat on the sofa, when I got an offer of some work, so I've been doing that. I was looking forward to doing something else - as little as possible - but I do get satisfaction from doing a good job, even if my job involves no physical labour whatsoever, and is rather ethereal in nature at the moment
Sorry to hear that. I think my short-range vision may have taken a downturn recently.
I keep meaning to find that book I have on Eyeless Sight, just in case, but there isn't that much to the book, as I recall: throw your mind into your (facial) cheeks, and you can learn to see with those skin cells.
The other cheeks obviously would not be socially acceptable in some cultural milieus.

LOL! :D Sorry to hear about your eyesight Jer :) I bumped into my neighbour, in his 80's, yesterday, and he was complaining about needing some specs. I told him he'd had a good run, but I suspect he's probably needed some for years. I was pleased to see he'd finally got himself a hearing-aid, which he's certainly needed a good decade or more  :D
Hope it improves through the day Jack. Must be frustrating with your work schedule.

The graciousness of members here is so refreshing to see.
Thank you very much Bob, it is frustrating. Fortunately, I can touch-type, if only with a few fingers! :D
Hope it improves Jack, could be dry eyes. Every once in a while mine get a bit blurry when dry and eye drops usually help.

Great pic of your Cosimo Lamb 👍
Thank you Steve, that's a good tip, I have central heating, so that may well be it  I don't have any eye-drops to hand, but I do have an eye-bath, so I'll take them out and give them a swirl! :D Thanks buddy :)
Good day Guardians !

I hope everyone's weekend is going well !

C. Johnson Barlow 🐑 today 👍

Wow, striking pic Steve, and what an amazing Lamb  :)
Hope your day gets better Jack. 😎🐑👍🤠
Thank you David, it wasn't all bad, I nipped out to get some essentials, and while I didn't have time for my Sunday Sausage Sammich, I did get pancakes with bacon and maple syrup in the yuppie cafe up the road - 3 pancakes, and 2 coffees - £24! I can see an eye-bath, and a glass of wine in my future ;) :D
Apparently it's a Central/South American thing to set off fireworks for any occasion at all. Mother's Day, Easter, Indigenous People's Day (sorry Columbus, you've fallen out of favor it would seem...), and all the rest. I'm so over it.
It seems to have spread Will! I was in line at the supermarket, and there was a long delay, because some guy insisted on returning 4 boxes of fireworks, because he'd bought too many! More fool him, I don't know why they gave him a refund, but it took ages 🤨
If we had a day set aside for quiet personal contemplation (not an entirely bad idea...) it would just become another excuse to set off fireworks.

And then there's this:

Good grief! I don't see much eye protection! 😖 I better not tell Tool Man about this! 🤣
Me too. Especially when they're strapped to sledgehammers...
"Someone just got hurt" Oh, really?!😖🤣
I was thinking this. Without too much effort, I'm fairly certain I could figure out how to launch a projectile fairly accurately using fireworks as a propellant.
Yeah, no trouble at all! :D When I was a kid, we used to break the tubular steel legs off chairs at school, and fire steel balls from our 'banger guns'! I'm amazed nobody was killed o_O I once saw some older kids, like maybe 11 or 12, firing an automatic version, but I've no idea how they made it
Thanks for the kind words, Jack. As I'm sure you know, that's where parts of the movie were filmed! I think it's neat that John Muir (of Muir Woods fame) camped out in it for a few months in one of his journeys east. Apparently he was quite taken with it as well. 😍
I didn't know until I looked it up actually Will, been a long time since I saw the movie. Maybe it was in my noggin, and I'd forgotten! :D That's cool about John Muir :)
Rest up, Jack! Probably ogling L'Arriete has worn them out! Give those peepers a proper break!!
Thanks mate, maybe! :D
Halloween was a double-lambfoot day at Bonaventure Cemetery, and here is Endurance and a Harvey on one of the old waterworks pumps. The cemetery sits on a bluff overlooking the Wilmington River and these pumps were used to supply water to the grounds prior to it being connected to Savannah's municipal water system. More info on the plaque.

Be good (well, as much as is possible...), Guardians!
Stunning photo my friend, what an interesting trip

I hope everyone is having a lovely day :) I was going to have a burger, but I'm still stuffed from those pancakes! :D

You are most welcome, Barrett. A fine knife Cosimo made you. Honestly don’t know of a custom maker that has taken on a 15 knife run and been as successful. His consistency knife to knife is shockingly good. A lot of hard work and dedication to one’s craft.

What steel is it in?

I've always enjoyed those pics :)

Many thanks Pat, he certainly is, and a great craftsman too

Very nice Paul :) Hope you're doing OK buddy, and that you get through your shift OK :)

Have you tried putting pumpkins out Barrett?! 🤣 ;)👍

Wow, congratulations Barrett :) Well done to Paul and Jeremy, what a lovely gift :)

Cool pics Mitch :)

Nobody ever complains about extra bacon! :D

Good morning Guardians, I hope everyone is having a great weekend :) I seem to have a bit of a problem with my eyesight today, it's a bit blurry. Hoping it clears up. I might lie down, and close them for a bit. I'm hoping I can just do a few things in the house today ;) Have a good one Guardians

I hope the eyes come right Jack, agreed with our friend, Eye drops for dry eyes? Fingers crossed for you there Jack! 🤞

Ever come across a Calamondin tree? If so, I'd recommend! An Asian hybrid between a mandarin orange and a kumquat, IIRC, with sour juice and sweet edible rinds - I just pop em in my mouth and try to avoid the pits! Also great for seasoning seafood dishes and spiced cider!

That’s a new one to me! My citrus is a bit lacking, one mandarin, one lemon, one lime and one orange. I did have another orange but the pet sheep killed it.

Outstanding jigging my friend :)

Thanks mate, seems there's some new indignity every bloody week with old age! :D ;)

BRILLIANT line! 🤣

I picked this up in the supermarket, only noticed the label when I was editing the pic, seems the Frenchies are out in Chile now ;) I wonder if that little feller was blown into the air by an exploding hammer? :D

Thanks Bob, I reckon it's a bit young, but not bad, and interesting to see that team over there. I remember when they went over to NZ many years ago :) At one time, I'd have bought half a dozen bottles, and stuck it down the cellar for a year. Now, it wouldn't last the week out! 🤣 🤣

Cab sav is my favourite wine, but I find they need at least 5 or 6 years to hit their straps.
That’s why I drink a lot of Pinot noir, I don’t have to wait!

I live in one of Australia’s good Shiraz regions, I should drink it more but I’m always drawn to something else.

I drink a lot of Aussie Shiraz Jack, have been for the past 40 years :) I drink a lot of of Aussie Cab Sauvignon too! :D You have some great wines :) I enjoyed a Pinot Noir I had the other night, but I forget where it was from, Argentina I think. I've been drinking a fair bit of Argentinian Malbec recently
