Guardians of The Lambsfoot!

Hilarious!
But Star Trek (original series ONLY) is WAY better than Dr Who!! (Don't tell my daughter I said that)

Well, he doesn't sound like the most rational guy does he, and I only know his opinion of Trekkies, not Star Trek? :D

I have some friends like that. When they got married, he had Tardis cufflinks and tie, and she had on tardis ear rings.

So far as I know, his wife isn't even interested in Doctor Who! :D The only thing I know about her is she's a Buddhist, and while he has his Dalek room, she has her Buddhist prayer room ;)

That's pretty funny. He went way beyond our own knife obsessions.

I like them both equally, along with Star Wars. My classroom is mostly dedicated to Doctor Who and Star Wars because that's what the kids relate to. But my office is dedicated to Star Trek, Battlestar Galactica, and Firefly. My Geekdom knows no bounds.

Sound like my kind of people

If I had more pull in the knife community, I'd try to get somebody like Rough Rider or Novelty Knives or ??? do a Sci Fi series of knives. That would be way beyond amazing!

I've never seen Star Wars, and last saw Doctor Who as a child, and Star Trek in my early teens. I have seen Firefly, both the film and series :) Sci Fi knives sounds like a great idea. Would they include Dan Dare and Flash Gordon? :D

Well, going to watch "Battlestar Galactica" for the first time tonight. I have an open mind. Mebbe I'll like it....

From the last time I checked in, I think I missed about 15 pages and apparently there is a official Guardian's map!
btb01 btb01 are you the one in charge of the map?
Happy weekend my fellow Guardians!

It's all going on here Kevin! :D Hope you're having a great weekend

It sure is Vince :)

I have found another knife I like it's an A. Wright two blade lambsfoot and pen and I think I'm going to pull the trigger tomorrow.

A lot of prior discussion about those knives here Randy, both recent and in the past (see the thread index) Pen blade on mine was a real nail-breaker. Hope you get a nice one

The Guardians map is looking better and better: four in Europe now instead of one (if the UK is part of Europe ;) )!

The fellowship is spreading! :)

Morning Guardians, hope everyone is having a lovely weekend, and that y'all enjoy your Sunday :) I'm carrying the Yorkshire Rose ;)

donn donn Norwich is a very nice place, fine Cathedral too. Should be a great opportunity to take a Lambfoot to open up a few pies, slice some cheeses whilst enjoying a drink:cool:

I suppose all this talk of trains is because of the boozing, a car's out of the question:eek::D Solution: find a teetotal driver;)

Lol Will, yes I already have a list of pies, cheeses and drinks around which my lambsfoot will be see some gratuitous action...:D
Me and Jack occasionally use the same rail network. If I recall correctly Jack doesn't own a car. For me it's about getting into some good walking country. On my day walks I prefer the train cos with our traffic it would take me hours to get to were I want to be, because I'm often to knackered after a walk to drive the hours back home and also I like to go places in the winter like this...
(I filched this image off a weather website www.buxtonweather.co.uk yesterday).

...which my little car just can't do.
Oh, and yes, because of the boozing to:D....

We don’t encourage folk to visit us :D.Nothing to see or do.

Lol! Norwich isn't the only place in England like that...:D

Lambsfoot for proper content;)

Hey, welcome to the Guardians! :) Looking forward to seeing more of that one. Here's another larger TEW

Great idea for the map . Put my pin on Burlington or Lake Geneva , Wisconsin . Now I need some knife content . The one that I have in my pocket more than any other . And I just had to use that green tractor to move 10 inches of snow .

Edited to add : Jack Black Jack Black I really appreciate showing your Old TEW my friend . And also @Mescladis

Harry

That's a fine herd of more mature lambsfoot's you all have there gentlemen  Thanks for showing them :)

Yes, it really isn't David :( I hope you have a great time in Norwich my friend. I have been there quite a lot in the past, but almost always working, so never had a great chance to explore. Been in a few rotten pubs and restaurants there too!

It really is a terrible service isn't it? :( Thanks for the link (groan) o_O I often get on the regular bus from Huddersfield to Slaithwaite or Marsden, but the only time I've been on a replacement bus it was a joke, the driver hadn't a clue where he was going, and there was no access for disabled people. I'm hoping to get over to Huddersfield on Tuesday

Hope everyone is having a great weekend :) A very cold, damp, and gloomy day here, but I still got a decent walk in, along with a visit to Kirkstall Abbey. Couple of pics from the day :)

Thanks for the warning Jack, I'll look out for them  There does though appear to be a profusion of fine real ale pubs  Or at least enough for me :D
Kirkstall Abbey looks nice. The two times I've been there the weather was exactly like that.

btb01 btb01 Can you add me to the map? First scandinavian guardian on the MAP! :D

I didn't know our Norwegian cousins called us Storbritannia  I know in Swedish Stor means something like large or great, is it similar in Norwegian then?

Morning Randy, there's been mention that some people find the two-bladed Wright's lambsfoot to be quick thick. Thought you'd like a comparison shot.

Looking forward to seeing those pics David! :D That's a great pic of Winnat's pass, I have climbed the two ridges on the left - easy climbing, but long routes for the Peak. One of them is called Matterhorn Ridge ;) No, no car for me, I haven't had one in decades. I rarely used to use it when walking for most of the same reasons, and the fact it pretty much restricts you to circular walks. Bus and train travel used to be a lot better back in the 80's though. I can remember when Winnat's Pass was closed to vehicles, and the road went round past the Treak Cliff Cavern, must have been closed nearly 45 years now  I am sure there are some great pubs in Norwich David, I have been rather hamstrung by the company I've had unfortunately! The last time I was there, I called in to see friends after a few weeks travelling in Europe, only had a few hours, but they took me to a really rotten pub so that they could watch football on a big screen o_O  It was nice weather the last time I was at Kirkstall Abbey, but we were denied access to the building because it had been let out to a private events group for some £50 a ticket 'fairies and princesses' nonsense! It's like that nearly every summer weekend  Helpful comparison pic my friend, hope you have a relaxing Sunday

Thanks for the suggestion Jack, I've just looked at that on the map. I've done Rushup Edge-Mam Tor-Lose Hill several times but never 'Matterhorn Ridge' :) If these trains sort themselves out I'll look at that.
Sorry to hear about the Abbey. I guess whatever makes the most mulla wins.
Though if I'd turned up I'm sure I could of got in as the evil troll...:D

They're old enough routes that you can probably find them on the internet - think they used to be graded as Diff and V.Diff respectively - more scrambles than rock climbs, but a bit slippy because of the limestone. If you get into difficulty, it's easy to traverse to either side  Yeah, I went to the Abbey with my Goddaughter in the summer, went in as usual, and then got sent back by this woman wearing fancy dress. The woman in the visitor centre told us it was still supposed to be open to the public as usual, but she couldn't get hold of her boss. Apart from being £50, you had to book in advance on the internet, so no chance of going in, but it looked like a total rip-off, just a fancy-dress part for posh kids  We were going to go in the museum yesterday, but that was closed, and the cafe was full of screaming kids unhappy about not being able to go to the museum
