Guardians of The Lambsfoot!

Good morning, Guardians. Last Sunday in August is a fine one in south Mississippi. Jack, I forgot to post a finale pic of my deluxe cream corn (sweet onion, red and yellow peppers added for flavor and color accent) along with roasted eggplant and farm tomatoes with Ritz cracker crust.

Wow Dave, looks like a great feast buddy! 😋 🤙

😫 The irrigation company assured me the pipes were at least 8 inches down. Well, putting in some steel edging for garden path I hit one at four inches. My Sunday will be fun filled.

Oh no! 😖 I hope you can get it sorted Bob  Great-looking Lamb
Resting with my feet up in the recliner this morning. The descent on our big hike was murder on my knees.

Really like how the bone on this one looks in the morning sun.

Coming down steep ground is hard, for sure Hoff  I hope you're feeling better in a day or two  Lovely Lamb my friend
Howdy
Hope everyone is having a good day. Leeds certainly has an active nightlife. Looks exhausting :p

The Leeds vid reminds me:
Keep them joints lubed :D
Yeah, they all look well-oiled for sure Mike! :D They're all drunk and worn out there, from the look of it. They are more raucous earlier on! Not often I'm in the city centre at that time, but I remember after my 50th birthday party, driving through town in a taxi, and I just couldn't believe the things I was seeing! Nice photo buddy :)
I kept waiting for a chip butty shot in the Leeds video.

I have nothing to report. I literally hang with turkeys. Nobber Turkey, Hotballs Turkey, Boring Turkey, Tool Turkey and Slimline Turkey. They have gone to seed.

LOL! :D I actually looked at another video, where I think I saw one Kurt, but there are barely any chip shops open in the centre, and maybe only one at night :(

LOL! :D That's hilarious Kurt! 🤣 Fine-looking Lamb there

Thank you, Jack. Veg heavy when the bounty is this good. I meant to point out that despite the recipe name there is no cream in my creamed corn. Just butter to cook the onions and peppers down to start. When the sweet summer corn is in season all you need is to scrape the cobs down after slicing off the kernels. That’s all the richness you need. 🌽

Nice !

Looking good Steve :)

Thanks pal !

Good morning Guardians, yesterday turned out to be a long day, but a full one. I called in at Charlie's, for a second breakfast, and was joined by Matt. He was going over to Wakefield, to meet up with some old work colleagues, so we travelled into town together. I met up with some other friends for lunch, and then went over to Bradford, where I ended up meeting up with a number of other friends. Either side of dining, we had a few pints in a great pub there, and I tried a few of their beers, one of which was from Sheffield. The pub seemed to have a few characters, including a man wearing a top hat, which along with the rest of his clothing, was entirely covered in buttons/badges. Another character, was wearing a large meat pie round his neck, and celebrating the birthday of J.B. Priestley. As we were leaving, I complemented him on his pie, which I was not surprised to learn was fake. In an accent I thought was affected, he told me that the pastry was genuine, but he had cracked it after falling over. I suspect beer might have been involved! 😆

Nice one Bob !

Well sad news, we were not able to summit. About 85% of the way up our mountain there is a bit of rock climbing know on the trail as “chicken out ridge”. Needless to say, we chickened out. It was just too technical for us, none of us expected to need rock climbing skills and we also packed WAY too much gear in our bags. Doesn’t help trying to climb up with a big heavy bag throwing off your balance.

We did still have a good time, and we climbed to the extent of our skill so we’re not too bummed. We turned around at 11,500 feet or so, so it was still a very good hike. Maybe we’ll practice our skills and try another day.m

Here’s where we decided it was just too far out of our skill set.

Also, here’s a lambfoot pic to keep this post somewhat topical 😅

While I might consider going up something like that, the coming back down part would make me reconsider the wisdom of going up. I find it easy to go up things like that...but descending is an entirely different proposition. At least for me it is.
