Guardians of The Lambsfoot!

Thanks a lot John, I thought you might like to see that front cover :) I used to really enjoy the comic, but haven't bought a copy for more than 25 years. I thought I'd pick up a copy for nostalgia's sake (and I already had an idea to use it as a background ;) )

Here's a pic I used some time ago :)

Very nice cover art, and cool picture.
What did you think of the Stallone movie?

Kind of dark and cloudy today. Here's a recent pic when the sun was shining:

Had to put this in my pocket today. Don't know if I have a knife that is more comfortable to use. What an ergonomic handle. And the Sambar stag is amazing. Have a great day, Guardians!

A run of beautiful pictures here guys

Yeah, I picked up that 1982 annual on a market stall, along with ones from '80 and '84, for £5 for the three :D Thank you John :) It's that long since I saw the Stallone film, I can't really remember it!

There is a more recent movie (2012) too

It's great to see you enjoying your AC so much Vince :)

Great photos and knives all!
FINALLY! Recieved my first lambsfoot this morning. Absolutely a beauty, with great chatoyancy, but..... it has a scratch.
So now the debate whether to live with it, or send it back:oops:

Poor photo, but this is it:

 Is it a scratch, or a feature within the horn? If it's a scratch, and you decide against returning it, it should polish out. If it's a feature in the horn, it's there to stay though. What's the pile side like Dennis?

That's a real bummer man! I am sitting here trying to put myself in your shoes, what would I do? Dennis, how long did it take for it to arrive and would you have to pay return postage?

It's definitely a scratch, I can feel it with my fingernail.
How would you recommend buffing it out, I've never messed with horn before. White rouge on a buffer?

It took 6 days to get it in, so not too long.

Here's the pile side comparison. I didn't notice the small blemish around the bottom pin on the pile side till I took the photo, but I could live with that, since it is horn...

6 days is quick! I'd be tempted to return it unless you think it would "buff right out" as they say :p

Gorgeous knife, though. If you can’t buff it out, I would hope contacting them would bring you eventual satisfaction. Not familiar with their warranty wording or CS, but I would expect them to exchange in light of the two defects.

I don't have a buffer (I recently bought a secondhand Dremel, but I've not had a chance to look at it yet), so in the past, I've just used Flitz, a soft cloth, and elbow grease, but it works. I'm a bit dubious about the area about the pin on the pile side though Dennis, could be a flaw? I certainly wouldn't have sent out that knife myself. It may be worth sending photos to the vendor to see what they have to say. Please let us know how it goes

Edit - Just to add that my friend @ADEE has a buffer, and gets some great results, even with ratty old knives he finds in the flea-market
