Guardians of The Lambsfoot!

Afternoon ladies and gentlemen.
Obviously we've all seen Jack's prototype but by virtue of the fact that my nationality places me in close proximity to West Yorkshire, I have the honour of introducing to you all...
The Guardians 2019 Lambsfoot.

God willing when you open the envelope you will find this very smart and swanky Altoids sized tin.

And a comparison with my rosewood I've been toting for the past few days.

Well everyone this is one very nice knife. I've only ever bought off the self before and this is my first semi-custom and I'm mightily impressed. It's shaving sharp and the pull is just right; solid, positive but no nailbreaker.
The covers are not matched but are beautifully finished both sides. A very minor difference in thickness but I only noticed that when I'd taken a close up shot and the pins are perfectly flush. The bolsters set everything off nicely; I think Wright's should use them more often.
It actually feels slightly heavier than the large rosewood I have so this is no wall flower but a proper working knife.
Apologies for the pictures, I thought I'd take them in daylight but it's -1c outside. Also, I didn't realize until after I'd taken them that I hadn't cleaned off small amounts of polishing compound on the knife, so if you think you see blemishes on the bolsters it's not, it's polish.
I missed the last two Guardians knives, but I'm really glad I participated in this buy as this is a knife to cherish.
And lastly, a great "Huzzah!" to both Jack Black, whose been so kind and generous in arranging all this, and of course to Ashley at Wright's who obviously really Really knows his onions and is a true craftsman.

That is a very nice looking Lambsfoot, a good choice of handle material too. Lucky to be that close by to receive yours so quick. I’m liking the packaging as well, nice going Jack!!

I would think yesterday what with all the messed up orders via improperly completed papal transactions mine included
Well Dave, you're not the only one to make it difficult for Jack!:(

Yes, apart from me, David is the first UK recipient of a Guardians Lambsfoot I think. Previously, I think @scrteened porch held the record (still the Transatlantic record), in an incredible 3 days I believe - and that was over the weekend! :)

Well Dave, you're not the only one to make it difficult for Jack!:(

Great pics guys  Hope all you Guardians are managing to keep warm. Coldest the day of the year here so far, but it's not crazy cold! I forgot to put my Lambsfoot in my pocket when I made my morning run to the post office  Worse news too, my sample 2019 Guardians Lambsfoot is at Wright's Knife Hospital at the moment because some butter-fingered idiot I know asked me if he could have a look at it, then snatched it out of my hand, tried opening it before he even properly had hold of it, fumbled it, and managed to throw it eight feet in the air with a hard landing on textured concrete! Fortunately, the half-open blade was OK, but the mark side took the impact

That's a real shame, Jack! :( But I'm sure the boys over at Wright's can fix 'er up.

I feel like you should bury the hatchet and give the fella who dropped your knife a Lambsfoot of his own. Make it one of these and see if he can take a hint. :D

(Interesting side note, Jack: While searching for a picture of that cheap-o Lambsfoot -- I remembered having seen 'em before but couldn't remember who made them -- I came across a Lambsfoot thread from 2013 in which you commented that you'd bought a couple Wright's knives, but had "never been to the Wright works." 600 pages here and several Guardians SFOs later, it's hard to believe there was ever such a time! :D)

That's brilliant! Very funny!:D
Thanks Barrett. I don't think I've yet seen this map.
French toast? Maybe their a civilized lot in Arkansas. :D Round here we'd just stock up on pasties, Red Bull and cigs...

That's a good looking 2019 Guardians Lambsfoot you received, David, and fast, too! I like the black-hole-looking Ironwood on the mark side.

Here's the link to the Guardians map.

Thanks Dennis, me to.

donn donn Thank you for the unveiling. It is beautiful.

Ari said thank you for the comments

Yes it is; the ironwood has a real natural sheen to it.
Btw, Ari's red boots are cool. :D:thumbsup:

Horrible! Hope the hospital stay is a short one and the outcome is a speedy and complete recovery for both.
Before I retired, I had a co-worker who gave into the pleading of a now estranged friend to let him test drive her brand new car the very day she took delivery. You guessed it - tree 1, car 0. Totaled - a complete loss.

Congrats on being the first to unveil the new Guardian Knife. You certainly received a beautiful example.

Jack Black Jack Black Thank you again for making this happen. Hope your knife is made whole again, soon.

Thanks

I hope so Barrett :) I think the guy would like that knife! He once told me all about this fabulous knife he had - it was some monstrosity from Franklin Mint! Yeah, sadly the other thread got swamped with Sheepsfoot pics

As Jack mentioned you are not alone, calculating the fees to apply to the total cost was a b#%ch! I needed 3 times to get it right.. Sorry Jack

There's no for anyone to calculate the fees, there's an option for you to just pay them, and the calculation is done for you. There are two lots of fees, one for the transaction, one for the currency conversion. I'd really prefer it if we didn't talk about this here though

Thanks OG :) I HATE that sort of thing, I've seen it several times, with both cars and motorbikes, and of course the stupid idiots rarely have insurance  I make it a point not to borrow anything I can't afford to replace
