Very true Jer I hate that they try to push every 'holiday' to the nearest weekend, so as not to disrupt 'production', it entirely spoils the point There was a time when a good-sized crew of us used to go out boozing on Saint Patrick's Day, now they're all frightened to take the day off work You can count on me though brother! Work is the curse of the drinking classes!

We used to have a St. Patricks Day parade in the heart of the city, every Mick school was represented with their school bands and a group marching. It was big, most people would not know what it is.

Good morning Guardians !


Well, we're getting it pretty good by the snow storm. We got close to ten inches here overnight and it's still snowing. It's a bit deeper on my deck. I have to keep it clear as it's the flat roof over my garage. My electric snow blower was struggling a bit but got it done. I'll have to do it a couple of more times so it doesn't get as deep. It's supposed to keep snowing through the day and into the night. Thankfully I don't have to shovel anything else other than my deck.

Today is my 55th birthday, so after church Dawn took me and the dogs to our favorite local winery. The were pouring some library wines - we ended up bringing home a 2009 blend they make that is outstanding (among other things).

We probably need a bigger wine fridge - having enough bottles is how I feel prosperous.
