Guardians of The Lambsfoot!

Wish I would have thought of that, next time.
Thanks again, Jack.

Love that old J.R Steve! the Handles just Rock - and enough blade to last a careful user a lifetime! 😍
With the sunny weather here, the fairweather traders were back standing again at Leeds Market, and it looked a lot better as a result. Tool Man was in good spirits, and had a few sales. Even Boring Ray was more cheerful than usual. Big J stopped by, as did Ex-Para Steve, but they were the only visitors while I was there. Tool Man went in search of a 'Growler' (a medium-sized pork pie), and I went with him for a walk through the indoor market. We went to visit Our Cake Man, but the stall was being tended by his stupid assistant Adam, who is devoid of conversation, sensible or otherwise. Tool Man bought himself a large custard tart. Back at the stall, Tool Man gave Boring Ray a quarter of the pork pie, and wolfed down the rest with HP Sauce. I decided to head off to get home for my parcel, and for Wolfie, who is coming round for coffee. Just as I was having a few minutes with Nobber Al, Gravel turned up, so I had a quick chat with him too, before bidding everyone farewell until next week. Predictably, Wolfie has just rang to say he'll be late because Evil Karen has sent him on a mission 🙄
🤣😂 Cracks me up these names- every time, Loving this Jack my friend!
Happy Double Lambsfoot Day! 🎉👍

LIke the pic Jer! 😁 I remember reading about one of Shackleton's expeditions where they got Vitamin A poisoning, and realised that what they had thought was snow sloshing inside their boots was actually the soles of their feet that had come off! 😱

Cool pic David :)
Jack, I was intrigued by the name of the town Slaithwaite and forgot to google it until just now. Have added it to the ever-growing list of places you mention that I'd like to see with my own eyes. Even though you skipped it for Huddersfield, Slaithwaite looks like a lovely town with an an impressive high altitude viaduct! Also interesting to note it is a stop on the Trans Pennine Real Ale Trail, which apparently I need to learn more about. A mid-distance pub tour via train seems something right up my alley.

Haven't carried this 88 lately as she's wrapped up for safekeeping, but I thought I'd show a photo with some Texas flair today. Sun is shining and it is going to be 88F as a high temp! Cheers, Guardians. I hope everyone has a happy Thursday evening. I'm going to an early dinner with an old friend tonight who is working on a book. Visiting a restaurant I haven't been to in 20+ years.

The name is of Viking origin Dave, there's a smaller place named Linthwaite close by, which the locals call 'Lin'it' :D Slaithwaite has been gentrified the past 20 years, but it's still an interesting little town to visit, with some beautiful countryside. I was hoping to upload a bunch of photos, but my internet connection is still bad. Here's one showing the viaduct though, and the Huddersfield Narrow Canal and one of the old reservoirs. Unfortunately, the Trans Pennine Real Ale Trail has led to a lot on unpleasantness on Saturdays, with large groups of drunken revellers from Manchester and Leeds turning up in the small villages and towns along the route, and causing mayhem. I don't know if things have calmed down in the 5 years since I was last out there, but the trains were having to be heavily policed because of violent and rowdy behaviour by gangs of drunks, and the pubs were closing on Saturdays :(

Great photo my friend

Wow, you're a fast worker Dan, and you have done a wonderful job  Love it! 😍👍
Another great pic David :)
An interesting collection Will, cool pic :)
Running behind post images was down all day yesterday.

The cardboard is recyclable plastic not. All so confusing.
That's frustrating Mitch, but your pics are worth waiting for :)
Actually, I was walking down the street and these real sharp agonizing shards of pain went through my back, bringing me to my knees Jack, 🤣

Both trips to York have been great- all except for those darned steps at the Train Station! I can bet you there has been sooooo many people going down them!
LOL! :D There was no member of staff to be found anywhere in the vicinity either was there Duncan, probably stay away from that danger zone

Thanks pal, you've just reminded me I forgot to pay a visit to Golden Gordon :D Unfortunately, a lot of the old characters are disappearing fast, and sometimes we don't even find out what happened to them :( Barry The Original Ted has gone for certain, along with Tackler Les, Stanley Baker, and several others, and Owd Shirley hasn't been seen for some time :(

Good morning Guardians, and Eid Mubarak! Ramadan may be over, but Jent still has another 10 days to run ;) I've got used to being without my sourdough toast in the morning, and hopefully have lost a few pounds :D I hope everyone has had a good week, the sunshine has made a big difference here, but it's cloudy so far today. The weeks seem to go so fast, I can't believe the weekend is nearly here. Carrying my Pals Lamb today, a knife I'm very grateful for :) Have a great day Guardians

Have a great day.

Closed on Saturday!
I was going to say that if you're going to get that drunk, you might as well stay put and drink cheap, but then you'd have nobody but yourselves to assault and vandalize.

I was going to say, "Start a Facebook group", but some of us don't do Facebook, and if we did, we would be unlikely to announce our deaths anyway.

I'm not much help this morning, but at least I'm nimble-witted enough to know it.

Happy Friday to you. Jack, a belated thanks for the Market Report. Glad to hear the Ted’s are doing well and the Market attendance is picking up with the better weather.
It’s been speedo weather here, high 80’s to low 90’s. Thank God I don’t have a speedo. If the weather continues like this it’ll be the hottest March we’ve had here. Santa Cruz is on the North end of the Monterey Bay. Whales already are migrating by. As I marine biologist like George Constanza, I would guess maybe the warmer water is the reason. Today I endeavor to do some gardening. I’m doing that early this morning when it’s cooler. Here’s a pic of the bay from earlier this week.

It seemed most of them were already steaming before they arrived at the small towns and villages in the middle section of the route. Because of the train times, and the fact they all arrived at the same time, they'd mostly only have one drink apparently, leave a lot of mess behind them, disturb the village, and put off regular drinkers, so most pubs didn't want them. In Manchester or Leeds, they wouldn't have stood out from the rest of the drunks that arrive on a Saturday afternoon

I've never been a member Jer, but strangely Tool Man joined, when he first got the internet about a dozen years ago. He still hasn't learned to make a post! 🤣

Thanks Kurt, that looks like a wonderful place to live  Stellar Lamb too my friend :)
I think I missed a day or two.
Well, the weekend is near and hope all can enjoy some warmth.

With my long-standing cough, it's only down to my friends' ignorance/disinterest of knife patterns that nobody has named me Coughin' Jack  I am rather thankful :D

I hope everyone is having a good day :) I've felt rather tired, and with a slightly upset stomach today, but I went out anyway, in the hope I'd feel better. I wasn't sure Charlie's Cafe would be open or not, but it was, and there was a nice atmosphere. Hisham's brother, Rashid, was over from Sicily, and Hisham's little lad Ryan, was in, so it was nice to see them both. The coffee was excellent, as always :) In town I had lunch at the Tunisian stall in the market, but found that my stomach has shrunk since my previous visit! This is an old pic, as I didn't have bread today

I needed a few grocery items, and spotted one of the job-stealing robots in the precinct. I briefly thought about taking a photo of my Lamb on top, but I wasn't sure I'd be able to catch up if the bot had it off with my knife!

Sorry to hear Jack, my wife has a perpetual cough too,
that no doctor can identify the cause nor treat.

If I can remember, that is a great name for my lamb.

I'm very sorry to hear about your wife Bob ☹️ I think I have had mine about 18 years, and after several years, the cause was eventually diagnosed as Silent Reflux. I have a hiatus hernia, but they probably won't operate at my age 👍

😂👍

My grandfather always used to say, "It's not the cough that carries you off! It's the coffin they carry you off in!"
