Thanks, guys.r8shell Cutest Lamb Foot picture ever.
I used to live in an upstairs apartment, and I had a clear plastic bird feeder that stuck onto a window. If you sat very still, you could get a close up view as the birds came right up to the window.Birds are so cool. I need to get myself a proper bird feeder. Right now they just steal food and water from my dog's bowls.
Your knife, your interpretation of the handle, Dave!Your pretty darn close Gary!I see a Jester riding the shoulders of a bear standing on his hind legs.
Although it could be a Witch.
or Carmen Miranda!

Thanks, Dave.GT I know you've been to SpainHeres Three Dog Night, singing one for you, to chase away the winter blues away.
Ironwood parquet!!
I think you're thinking of ski masks (or panty hose), Vince! What's a stocking cap? Isn't that what bank robbers wear?
Thanks for the nice song and story, @OLd_gUY!One of my all time favs for sure! I've been there also, although that was when Franco was still in power.
Here's my last musical contribution on Texas Independence day - from the great Bob Wills. This is my favorite version of this Texas Swing classic. Bob (who had suffered a stroke) was transported to the recording session in a wheel chair so he could take part in the two day session. The album (entitled "For The Last Time") was originally meant to be the last recording in which he was to take part - a tribute to his illustrious career and talent. Ironically, after recording this song on the 1st day, he suffered another stroke during the night which ended his life.
Thanks for pointing that out for me, Taylor; I can see the crossed swords now!
Guardians need their protein!...
Here is one of the best tasting ribs I have ever had, along with my '19.

Have a great weekend y'all!
Thanks,
Well-said, Ron.Thanks Gary! I think it’s amazing that out of 70 knives (purely an estimated total) they all have incredible character. Some are bolder and some more subtle, but they all have their individual qualities. This helps to make them special to each who are fortunate to have them, and to all of us when we get to admire the photos when our fellow Guardians post them!![]()
You're welcome, Dwight....
Thanks GT! I never thought about it like that but your are dead on. Cool.

I haven't carried my Li'l Sambar since the ironwood got here, so I think I'll put it in my pocket tomorrow.

23 lbs in a couple of months is a loss to be proud of, Jack! Thanks GT, I got weighed at the hospital last week, and had lost 23lbs
I suggest you never do any Rorschach tests my friend, your girls might not see you for a while!![]()
Thanks again my friend, sorry to hear you're struggling with winter, and hope sunnier climes are not too far away for youYou need to sit on your couch, huddled under a blanket, with the cannine book-ends, tapping away on a lap-top!

Maybe a rosewood lambsfoot and a can of beer are "common as muck", but there's a reason they're so common - they're just very satisfying to a huge number of folks, including you and me!...
I was thinking that may of brought out the “common as muck” element in me.Maybe I should invest in a bottle or two of the harder nectar.
One of my Rosewood Lambsfoots this morning.

I like that shot, John!
Gary, when you posted about sitting between the two dogs as 3 dog night, the song came to mind. Thanks, Dave.Nice song (and some psychedelic video
).
I haven't listened to Three Dog Night in quite a while. I think I only have one of their albums, and it's on cassette, which we used to use in the van we once owned. I'd have to search the basement to see if I could find a machine that would play a cassette!
No "X's" just the swords.Your knife, your interpretation of the handle, Dave!

I think you're thinking of ski masks (or panty hose), Vince!Mine is a nice multi-hued cap one of my sisters knit for me probably at least 40 years ago. Not real fashionable, I suppose, but family trumps fashion, right?
Thanks for the nice song and story, @OLd_gUY!
Thanks for pointing that out for me, Taylor; I can see the crossed swords now!Gotta give me a break with all the cutting and pasting the docs have been doing to my eyes for the past couple of months! (Did you at one time have just "Taylorxx", or is my memory getting as bad as my eyes???
)
Guardians need their protein!
Thanks,cigarrodog .
I need more photographer-proof knives!
Well-said, Ron.
You're welcome, Dwight. Not many people can tell by looking at me that "Fashion" is my middle name!
Nice photo of what looks to be a big rosewood?
Thanks, Dennis.Never knew that was a Hoyt Axton song! Thanks for teaching this old dog a new trick.

I prefer to think of my mind as being creative and unfettered, rather than as being unbalanced.
If i can survive another couple of months, spring should be evident!
Thanks for the Man Jack compliment, Jack. That's an astounding shot of your ironwood Lucy!

Your Ashley's has such rich color. Can't believe you trust her with your knives after she stole so many of them...I haven't carried my Li'l Sambar since the ironwood got here, so I think I'll put it in my pocket tomorrow
I felt the same way at first but now I like the Pere David very much. That's a nice one.I’m not so sure I love the cover material though..... I have some really good leather dye that has served me well in the past. Perhaps it will be a bit different the next time I post. At any rate, a great pattern!
Super pic of your Big 'Un Dwight
Thanks Jack. I hope your Sunday is enjoyable.Morning Guardians, hope everyone is having a great weekendI'm hoping to do lots of catching up on the forum today, but still have some chores to do, a Lambsfoot to wrap, some shopping to fetch, and some exercise to get in. At least I don't have to work!

Man Jack again:
Thanks again GT. I have always admired Man Jack and that Ironwood is one of the runway models. But I do have the ironwood close at hand, too
Thanks for the clarification. Don't hear much talk of "stocking caps" around here, but some guys do wear touques (mostly with the Dallas Cowboys star on them) in the mild winters we have. Went to Baltimore one winter and had to borrow a heavy coat from someone. I also bought gloves and thermal underwear. And I was still cold! Think I'll stay here in the South.I think you're thinking of ski masks (or panty hose), Vince!Mine is a nice multi-hued cap one of my sisters knit for me probably at least 40 years ago. I like that! Beautiful color horn.Last week I mentioned that I had won an auction on everyone’s fav web site. I was not sure by the pictures whether it was horn or wood. It arrived late yesterday and it turns out it’s a nice smokey grey colour. Pleased with this one.

That does look like spilled salt PrestonTimely taken photo my friend, hope you didn't get too much of it. Despite the storm warning we had, looking out of the window this morning, it actually looks like a pretty nice day
Thank you, I do enjoy getting out when I can, and as I get older, stopping for lunch has become a ritual. I didn't have tea yesterday, I recently discovered this brand of miso soup, and really like it, it's so tasty!
I have a lot of small stoves, but the small titanium twig stove I have weighs almost nothing
