It was harder (Rockwell ) than I expected. I used my KME and it was certainly up to the task. I reprofiled to 20 degrees per side and had to drop to a lower grit than I wanted to achieve it. So it took a while to take care of the scratch patterns as I went up in progression.Good stuff, what was the steel itself like to sharpen?

In retrospect I probably should have just matched the factory edge and stopped at 600, then stropped which would have given a more than satisfactory "toothy" edge. But I get a wild hair every once in a while and wanted to give this beauty something special

No record player? Or even a CD player? Ah, well, at least you had the beer & olives! (Making me hungry.)Just listening to some Frank Sinatra, and thought I'd treat myself to a beer and some spicy Spanish olives. No sooner cracked the can when Windows took it upon itself to change all my default programs, so then I have to sit there with no music, drinking my beer, while tediously sorting out their latest SNAFU. Why did that company decide to commit commercial suicide, I'd never choose to buy another Windows product?![]()
Signed my outof Imgur too!

Same here and have for many years.Yeah, I sleep with the fan on.
Gorgeous pics Dave as always.cigarrodog As for hearing, funny or strange as it might sound, I cherish my hearing loss. Half the the things I hear, I wish I didn’t.
It can be quite hilarious sometimes communication between the wife and I![]()

Great comp Harvey and the stag is really nice. My conceal carry is almost always a derringer. I'll try to get a photo.I’ve had hearing difficulties all my life. Originally it was from a wax build up in the inner ear(not from dirty ears, silly). This led to a lifetime of ENT visits. I didn’t help matters by overexposing myself to loud music, playing in a band, and constantly assauting my hearing, listening with headphones.
I can’t do anything about all the cilia I’ve destroyed, but I have been taught a way cleaning my ears with Debrox, water, and a bulb plunger. I’m too stubborn to get a hearing aid.
Ok, Ok... Lambsfoot content.

I can see. Hearing is not so great. Absolutely no sense of smell.I can't see or hear, but I sure can smell!
That lamb shot brings one to attention!
Beautiful Ron. Seems like all of your ebonies are ultra black!Beautiful lambs abound today.Congratulations to all you Guardians that have received your Damascus examples. They’re all very beautiful knives!
I hope to have mine in hand sometime in the near future. It has been doing a lot of traveling. It’s even been received and departed from the same USPS facility two times in two days.
At least it’s in the correct state for now. I’ve got an Ebony for today. Hope y’all have a great day!

Much obliged Preston. That there is just a superb example of cutlery craftsmanship, wonderfully photographed!
Super nice western rig and cutlery.Mark, your Lambsfoot's Ironwood looks so smooth and satiny, great photo.
Morning John, all attention is directed to your Lambsfoot, very effective!
Hope your Damascus Lambsfoot arrives soon, Ron. That nice Ebony one will suffice...at leas for a while.
Guardians, it's not a nice morning here, fog, drizzle and the threat of rain and snow today and tomorrow. Tracking shows that my Damascus Lambsfoot left the UK on the 5th...but, nothing since then. Oh well, I do have a few toys to play withHope your day is a good one.

Wow Harvey! Rugged terrain on that striking stag senator. They really nailed it with these knives. Awesome photo too.@dc50 Dave...I keep telling you. Don’t change a thing. Just be you. That’s plenty good, Pal.
Jack Black I have sleep apnea. Had a terrible time adjusting. Mr. Stubborn, I suppose. I respect the ones that can adjust. BTW...Thank you for the fabulous two knives.
I’ve been super busy today which is the reason for the slow roll. I missed out on the one I thought I wanted. Besides Mr. Stubborn, they call me Mr. Procrastinator.Anyway, the first is the Snakewood. It’s righteous. I’ll show that later. But the Senator gives me great joy. I really, really love it. The covers suit me to a T. Ashley hand made a real gem. Off to the next chore.
PS. Thank you, Thank you, Thank you. Thank you also for the pin, too, my friend.

Sinatra's best albums (in my not very humble opinion) are "Songs for Swingin' Lovers," "In the Wee Small Hours," and "Only the Lonely." Think I'll listen to some tonight.

GREAT looking brews there Jack. CHEERS
Great story. Sometimes the people that know me best think I'm crazy.Yeah, but I felt I had to sort it out!![]()
Me too, it is very distinctiveI should order something at some point. The problem here is though, we pay so much in import duty and tax, you pay for everything twice over
I was walking up my road today, and I thought I saw one of my neighbours with her father, who I met briefly before a few years back, and while Basque, he mainly speaks Spanish. When I turned round to say Hi, I realised it was actually his wife he was with, who looks the image of her daughter. They are visiting, but neither of them speak any English. It was a bit weird having to suddenly switch to Spanish, which I haven't spoken in 10 years. When I was saying goodbye to them, I accidentally spoke Arabic, which I've spoken more recently The father didn't recognise me from before, and the Mother I never met, I think they must have thought I was just some crazy guy![]()
Those Damascus lambs look rather splendid. The cutlers at Wright's really seem to be on a winning streak at the moment.
