Congrats, fine looking knives. Jack is a wonderfully generous person!

Awesome!

Finally some movement on my package finally out of customs and into the hands of the USPS...

Couple more days and the damlamb will be here!
Mine's in the USPS system...but, still in Puerto Rico:mad::confused::mad:
I just checked. So I'm old. When you're my age, 1976 and 1998 are practically simultaneous.

Wish I didn't understand that Jer!!
Been away on vacation...will do my best to catch up :):thumbsup::thumbsup:
Scored this book in mint condition at an antique shop earlier today...1971. Anyone who knows rock climbing may have heard of this chap :)
Hope everyone is well.

While I've known about this since the beginning of the year (and was even the legal witness to the deal - I just happened to be there when the papers needed signing), I now have permission to publicly share the news that A.Wright & Son of Sheffield have had a transfer of ownership. John Maleham has decided to go into semi-retirement, concentrating on his own small company J.M. Tools Ltd, and the good news is that the new owner of the firm is Michael Harrison, John’s old Work’s Manager (and Ashley’s dad). This has led to an extremely smooth transition, and should mean a bright future for the firm, and for Ashley and Michael. The first knives to be made after the change of ownership were our 2019 Guardians Lambsfoot knives :) I'm sure you'll all join me in wishing Michael good luck at the helm of Arthur Wright's, and to Ashley and the other cutlers on a great future

Nice to see the new gaffer still isn't afraid to get his hands mucky! ;) :D

Also the best of luck to Keith, who worked for Joseph Rodgers & Sons, before coming to Wright's, upon his retirement

Yes, best of luck to them. My two (so far) A. Wright & Son knives are works of art. One's in my pocket right now.
Thanks for sharing the news, Jack.

Best wishes to them and the company going forward. If the quality of my 2019 Guardian Knife is any indication, the future looks bright indeed.

I'll pass on the good wishes fellers :) I think they have even greater days ahead of them

I have written about their 'seconds' in the past, which were sold out of the factory door, or to dealers, and as a consequence, ended up back on the market. John M told me one bloke used to come to the factory every week to buy them. I've had seconds myself, which were OK, and I got them at a decent price, usually the problem was a crack in the stag or horn, but I don't think that they were good for the reputation of the company. I recently suggested to Michael that they mark the seconds in some way, so that they can't be passed off by unscrupulous traders. Michael told me they're no longer going to sell them, they'll either be scrapped or recovered. The bloke I mentioned above came to the door, and when Michael answered it, he asked if they had any seconds. Michael told him they don't make seconds! I think the Guardians knives have made a big impression at Wright's, and been a reminder of what excellence can be achieved. In my opinion, the quality of their general range has already improved over the past couple of years :)

Seems to me that you've been an influence for the good with A. Wright & Son of Sheffield, Jack.

Been really busy and stressed lately. Not much participation from me. BUT... The damascus looks incredible, nice job, Jack and A.Wrights! I'm super stoked for the upcoming GEC "biguns", thanks @waynorth! Those are gonna rock. I have another stainless Navy knife mod to do here this week/end now that I'm getting my head above water again. Long live the Lambsfoot!

My best wishes for greater success in the future. Jack with your influence, they seem to have a developing sense of pride and business awareness, that usually comes from the outside of the workplace...meaning you. They need to recognize you as a factor in their marketing and quality control.

Yikes, :eek:Linda and I were married in 69 and the first cool thing we bought was a color TV. :p then I bought a brand new 650 cc Triumph Trophy
When I was stationed in Germany, a friend had a Triumph Bonneville that I really liked, loved riding it. He was going to sell it, but at the time, I couldn't afford it. I regret not buying it from him.
Like José, I received a Buffalo Horn that I picked up on the exchange :D

Seems to me that you've been an influence for the good with A. Wright & Son of Sheffield, Jack.

Thanks Vince, I hope, at least, the Guardian's knives have shown a genuine demand for quality exists, and that not everyone simply wants the cheapest knife possible

Jack Black Jack Black - You’re loaded for Bear with your nice Lambs. Congratulations to all at A. Wright,

OLd_gUY OLd_gUY - That Senator is a jewel.
