'High end' fakes

No reason to sugar coat Dalton, he made a run of knives to commemorate the Aryan nation, and lots of his other knives had logos similar to Nazi eagles without the swastika.

Fakes I have seen run the gambit. Some are cheap and just try to look like the real thing. Like a Seb 21 that is not a frame lock yet its Ti with a liner lock. Some higher end fakes $200+ range are generally a decent knife and in some cases come pretty close to the real thing.
Homage knives are a bit different like the Ganzo's and they are good for what they are but, its nothing like what they are imitating.
Only fake knives I would buy would be balisongs. I use them to play with because it may look like the real thing but, I know it wont flip like the real thing. I got it just for fun. I dont see the point in getting a fake seb or stryder, even if its 90% like the real thing it will never be. Who are you trying to fool? people on Instagram?
But balisongs especially discontinued models i would say go for it. Not like your hurting any sales of discontinued knives. Granted I own the real thing of all the clone balisongs I own.

Dang, good to know.
Hinderer rides a pretty shady line with all the crusader crosses and spartan imagery right now, imo.
If I thought I needed a Hinderer, I'd actually prefer a clone because of it.

^ yeah I had a 2 or 3 daltons and after seeing some of those commemoratives come out for sale I got rid of mine

Here is some of my thoughts/suspicions on the subject: #1 Are the materials what they say they are? I don't think they are they might still be better than what they use in the cheap knockoff and for the blade they might actually HT it as I am not sure the cheap ones are. #2 When comparing the cost of the knockoff to the real thing we often forget that we are not just paying for the sum of the parts. We pay for the labor. We pay for the assurance of quality. We pay for the customer service.

@s4mpson That logic, or lack there of, is so ridiculously flawed your implying a Samsung Android Tablet is equivalent to a Chinese Knockoff Knife. I just don't have the time and energy to fully argue the flaw in your thinking nor is this really the place.

The only real way to compare a knock-off to the real-deal is to buy one of each and send it to a testing lab for verification of materials, construction engineering, proper manufacturing (Heat Treatment, bearings, etc.). Then you compare them side-by-side and determine the differences. But don't stop there. Lastly, do a testing evaluation to see if the differences have any impact on the intended use of the knife. For a lot of knife owners who EDC, but really don't put their knife to hard use, it may not make any difference. That being said why would you waste your money on a knock off when you can probably buy a real deal less expensive knife from a USA or other major knife manufacturer with better sales, service, and warranty for the same or less money? I'm not bashing foreign made knifes. I EDC a Spyderco Gayle B. It works well for my knife needs and was not too expensive.

if you want a high end chinese made knife, get a WE Knives, Reate knife, custom knife factory or even Rike Knife. no need to buy a blatant rip off with questionable everything.

Hinderer's stuff is political though where Dalton not so much

Spartan helmets and crusader cross merch is all over StormFront. Go take a gander.
After I saw Neo Nazis in their full get up in my local bar 4 days after Trump won I noticed the tattoos they had were those, so I did some research to educate myself. Its a not so subtle substitute for the obvious swaztika.

Waaah, take it to Facebook.

I hear Antifa has started a baseball bat forum. Wood or aluminum?

Steel has no political affiliation, unless you want it to...

Dude, Crusader Crosses now verboten? Please explain.

I sure hope people don't get offended by images of crossed out crosses.

If you're gonna minimize Dalton, which I researched after this convo and saw the obscene Nazi regalia myself he put on blades, I'm not gonna even try to engage. You already know what you're trolling and you know I'm right.

I'll do a bit more research

The other way to tell a knock off is to put it in my hand
I can tell you immediately- because I made most all of them

By the way
If you would like verification of who I am,
Ask Rob about blacking both of his wife’s eyes with a hammer to the head-
It was an accident truly- it fell off a ladder
Know one knows that story but me

Old pic... Maybe 8 years ago. I miss that knife.
