Can’t stand it any more
Also- I remember the first OTF he put out - it was a microtech knock off.
Exactly duplicated - he had me actually measure a microtech !
He wanted an aluminum charging mechanism and I told him it would not hold up.
It doesn’t - should have been stainless

I have been solving other people’s machining problems for 40 years
Only 5 more years to retirement
Don’t think my sanity will last much longer
Making knives again would drive me nuttier than I am now.
My wife suffered an internal decapitation back in 2013 and I’m looking forward to spending every day with her in retirement!

How is it uncalled for to ask for clarification on a point that was unclear? And a very important point at that. I guess if you want to sound like you make counterfeits that is your choice. I couldn't tell which it was so I asked. Glad you make the real ones.

I prefer airplane spares to be genuine as well. Yes, these are faked as well - big time.

I despair, when thinking about all that absolutely ruthless persons will fake
(which is basically anything, that sells).

But the fakes are only there, because there sadly is a demand.

Depressing.

Just now looked.

There are knives with a spitting image Wehrmacht eagle with a 'D' instead of the swas.

Why on earth would he make those!

The dalton knives with FTW on them means
Fuck The World
One person I knew that was helping him told me he quit because Rob wanted him to put “Fuck God” on some knives!
That was his last day- he left
 
It pains me to see people paying 400 - 500 or more for these knives.
They will never be worth that in my mine , but , to each his own!

I didnt question the 'FTW' motto - I know , what it means.
 
I made decent money making knives but I wouldn’t do it again with him if I had it to do over.
Things could have been still going good today if it were someone else
 
I never bought chinese clone. I think it's waste of money. You get something which looks like original but probably with worse steel and worse hardware without any customer service. After short time it's a junk you can't even easily resell without huge loss. And real knife enthusiast will spot that you carry a fake - don't expect handshakes and congratulations that you outsmarted producers of original.

As for the knives, I have a couple clone pieces from China and got them for shits n giggles. The most expensive one was a shirogorov neon clone for ~$50. I can guarantee you beyond the shadow of a doubt I will never buy a genuine shirogorov, unless I happen across a bunch of money and all my other bills are paid. The materials and fit/finish are great for the price and frankly the initial quality is superior to any comparable priced knife of non-dubious brand. It has literally been the only knife I've purchased in the past 2 years that has come with a properly ground blade.

They are what they are, cheap clones that can be decent for the price and are considered disposable. Americans just adore disposable products.

So if it was a high quality Chinese clone, you would be OK with it. Like a fake "Sebenza" with the same materials and tolerances would be cool with you, correct?
