How do you store your traditional knives

Sarah - Thanks for the write up. I have a generic case of some sort that resembles that one that was my Dad's, guess I'll have to take a good look at it.

kspaz - Now, that's what I'm talkin' about!

I store most of mine in storage cases and displays.

That's a fantastic Case case you have!:thumbup:
Is there story behind your getting it?

No interesting story, i just bought it at flea market. I recently broke the glass shelf, so I replaced them with a magnetic board.

Sarah: many thanks for the outstanding review!! Much appreciated.

I've pondered on and off about their DIY kits. Your International version gives me another option.

Thought I'd throw in here I keep mine in cardboard and glass cases, knife rolls and wooden display cases (old photo probably seen it before.

Thanks GT. I do like knife rolls for knives I don't use often they don't take up much space and keep my knives safe. This one has my Rough Riders in it. Now if I would only take better care of my boxes.:D

Keep the images in the posts of traditional knives only, please. One post was moved offline for having too many modern knives. Thanks.

It might be time to buy more space....

You've Inspired me, up until now I just toss what I use regularly in a Micrometer box along with a lighter, pencils I use, and whatever else I carry everyday that I leave next to the door. These look easy I might cut some out.

I made myself a little box for the traditional and some moderns(out of the picture) which I like to have access more frequently.
It was my first attemp at dovetail with hardwoods.

The drawers are great for organizing. You also are able to lock it up. You can pick these up at Sears.

Good stuff, and I like the contents of your lower drawer. Are all those folding hunters scrimmed? Some great knives and a good idea for organizing. It's gotta be better than my Drawer of Doom. :p

TsarBomba,

Those larger slip joint folders are Case Whale Series Scrimshaws by Linda Karst - these particular pieces were laser engraved by Shepherd Hills based off the originals Linda Karst did. I like em!

I have a genuine mammoth ivory scrimshaw (a whale hunting motif) on order through Al Warren - hope to have it in hand come springtime.

I really like the Craftsman toolboxes for organizing. I would check them out if you get a chance. The drawers are a good size, smooth opening, and you are able to pad lock them shut.

The Craftsman tool chest looks like a fantastic storage solution, socalmarine! (But my wife would never allow me to go that route. :o) Thanks for the info about your scrimshaw; I really like their looks!:thumbup:

A lot of lovely and very well organized ideas. Most of the collections shown are folding knives. Would love to see how do you store your fixed blade collections.

When you talk about storage (vs Displaying), is there any reason to not leave them in their box, or tube wrapped in waxed paper? This assumes they are in a temperature and humidity controlled environment.
