BG42, Yes, our American Bullet mfg. don't make a 210gr. for that caliber . We'd most likely use the 180gr. (11.67 grams) bullet, some may use the 200gr. (12.96 grams) . DM

Well I got the Federal Box turned around but its 220gr Speer Hot-Cor SP. I have a Whitworth that loves that stuff (it likes 180 too but hates 150gr and lighter).

None of my 30-06s like the 125gr bullet. The Featherweight Classic loves the 165gr!!! Awsome round and very accurate in the Winchester.

I have some other calibered rifles but my favorites are the 30-06s.
Here's the Whitworth Igor. Interesting rifle. Imported to U.S. by Interarms. The barrel and action was made by Zastavia in Serbia. It is a perfect reproduction of the K98 Mauser action. The barrel and action was then sent to England to be stocked and finished by Whitworth. That stock is their Whitworth Safari walnut stock. Whitworth also polished, jeweled, trigger installed/set, and proofed the rifle...exceptional Fit and Finish. It is also very accurate. I believe this rifle in 30-06 was intended to be a backup gun on an African Safari hence the barrel twist that favors heavy bullet weights. In any case, I like it very much although it is a quite heavy rifle.

Hi Garry, when I was younger and my eyes were sharp,I had a rifle just like that one.I had to mold my own bullets and reload my ammo.I used it for competition and won many a match.

ОООО Mr. Gordon

I think you are a big sports professional in shooting.
I am simply hunter.
In Russia it is forbidden to charge independently cartridges (ammo) for a rifle, you should use only the factory.
It is authorised to charge cartridges (ammo) only for a shot-gun.

Yes I like convenient things.:D
BDU (M 65) is good suit for hunting in Russia.
It is not heavy, well repeats drawing of Russian wood.
A little gets wet but it is not a problem for me.
I have another one an Italian shot-gun.

This Italian a shot-gun was presented to me by my girlfriend on Birthday.
She is the girlfriend good and understanding me.
Isn't that so?

AG 110 it will be good on any hunting, both for a bird and for the big game.

Sky, Was it in Silhouette at the Butterfield Trail range ?
There were some good European cartridges since gone defunct that had some following in Russia perhaps you'll recognize these; 8X68S and 8X71 Peterlongo capable of handleing any big game in most countries except the largest African . Besides these are not legal their . Thanks for the photos . DM

Hey, thanks a lot, Garry.

My picture shows what we call a jackrabbit. They are large and have become quite scarce in my area due to intensive farming practices. I miss seeing them. I was five years old when that picture was taken. My father cut down the Winchester Model 68 .22 rifle to fit me. He customized it with the colored inserts. I was a lucky child.

We also have the hare, which here we call snowshoe rabbit. They are more an animal of the deep woods and are still quite common just a bit north of the farming country where I live.

The similarities of our world and the things we have in common continue to amaze me. My dad had an 8mm Mauser just like yours when I was young. Excellent weapon that we used for deer hunting sometimes even though it was very heavy.

I enjoy your cap. I did not take you for a marijuana smoker. It does show a sense of humor.

:)

The Jackrabbit has flourished here BECAUSE of farming . In East TX. you don't seen them because of housing development taking the land . But one can still find Swamp rabbits in thick wooded, swampy areas of E. TX. which are the size of the hare Garry holds .
The 8X57 Mauser was my first deer rifle . I loaded the 175gr. bullet when I could get them and used it for deer and coyotes . I even had a Buck 107 back then which I used to do all the field dressing . DM

Ok Thanks.
-Coyotes- What do you mean american wolf or jackal ?
In Russia we have normal wolf and little wolf called jackal.

Hi Garyale,

I wish you a lof of fun at the blade forums, especially with the Buck collectors.
St. Petersburg is a great town, also the inhabitants. I've been there a time ago and I met great people. Partially it was moving for me as a German.

Best,
Haebbie

Hi Haebbie.
Thank you for your good words concerning Saint -Petersburg and inhabitants, and of course about Buck forum.
