If you could only live with one knife brand...

That's a tough one!

If I had to choose one brand: that would be, Zero Tolerance; with Spyderco, coming in a close second.

Although I love and use products from other brands as well, I would have to say Victorinox.

I've not read this whole thread, but will, without a doubt Spyderco. Always carried a Buck 110 till the mid 1990's when a buddy at work showed me his Endura. That was an eye opener for me.

There are very few brands that offer the variety that I require: designs from around the world, unique and interesting mechanisms, modern survival knives, traditional folders, old-school hunting knives, ranging in price from ultra-affordable to luxury, wide variety of natural materials...

A.G. Russell seems to be the only reasonable choice.

Perhaps KaBar as a second choice?

Since I am into all kinds of knife styles, I would go with the company that has the greatest variation and that would certainly be Cold Steel. They are far from the best in any category, but they make blades for every category and I can't think of another company that does that.
I think that there are a couple of areas in which they are #1. But I agree with you. They have the most complete line. From pocket knives to entrenching tools. $20 GI Tanto to the San Mai III Natchez Bowie.

Axes, Hawks, Swords, Folders, Machetes and even some G10 handled 3v fixed blades that can hold their own with Busse.

Chris Reeve, or just one a Rockstead folder, if its true what they say about the Rockstead blade.

I'd say I'd be happy with CRK. They're my favorite because they make dedicated left hand folders and of course their quality is top notch.

Oohh, AG Russell is a good one.

I also will revise my kabar statement to Cutco, which owns kabar. Still not the best kitchen knives, but more options always is better.

A lot of brands and models comes into my mind, but surely it would not be a folder, but large fixed blade

Which brand would you choose?... since this thread is titled "If you could only live with one knife brand...." not "If you could only live with one knife type..."

Me, I'd go with Fallkniven. Wide range of fixed blades and folders, in a wide range of styles, sizes, and materials, all high quality and made by nice folks. Even kitchen knives.

I don't own any Cold steel knives, but their vast array of uses makes me drawn towards them.

When I meant best, I am including custom. But yes for production they do have some top stuff and great steels. But no one beats their variety. For example in folding knives, I prefer spyderco overall. In fixed blades it's Busse and in hatchets it's Gransfors Bruks. But none of those companies make everything the others do, so CS would give me good products in every category.

Toss up for me. Spyderco for sheer diversity of steels and designs or CRK with its solid feel, build quality and longevity.

Victorinox. The steel is good enough, and if there's a need, there's a model that will fit. Kitchen knives? Check. Pen knife? check. Wilderness folder? Check. Fixed blade? Well, maybe I'll use a kitchen knife :-)
