In My Opinion, Still the King

Don’t care for Spydercos look and design with that weird leaf shape blade and the big hole .....better edc for around $80-150....imo
ZT 0450, 0566
Kershaw- s30v blur, CF leek (cpm154)
Benchmade- any griptilian....to name a few

The wasted space between the bottom of the secondary bevel and the top of the handle is a sin in 2018. Make a damn 50/50 choil and call it a Delica 5. Or bring the cutting edge all the way down to the handle. Either way, big blemish on an otherwise brilliant design. As it stands, I'd rather have a Native because of the this.

But I still think a large and small 21 can handle any task.

To the guy shitting on Cold Steel, get an American Lawman in your hand. You'll thank us. Hard to know with their advertising, but they make some of the very best sub $100 folders on the planet.

I agree with you about Cold Steel having some great sub $100 folders. The Code 4 is a gem... but, I HATE the American Lawman.

It's a quality product, but never could get it to fall comfortably to hand. Just didn't fit mine.

Too small. I’m worried its gunna get lost in my pocket to be honest.

Still rocking the jncos are we?

I’m not a huge griptillian fan. I like the 940 better. I’m just pissed about mine because there is a little blade play side to side unless I want an extremely tight action. Apparently a common problem with 940s
The 531 is not a grip. It's the blue one.in the middle, and it actually kicked my 940 out of my pocket, though the 940 is an outstanding knife. The 531 also has a feature no other axis lock I've handles has. When you pull down on the axis lock it kicks the blade out about a quarter of the way, but has no spring assist, still completely manual. It's pretty awesome, I dont know why it hasn't been done more..

Oh I thought you said 551 for some reason.

Yeah the Pardue looks like a pretty sweet little knife I would probably like.

Still I feel like the only Benchmade in my near future would be a CF bugout if BM ever wises up and makes one.

Or a Proxy if I could find it.

I could never get onboard with the delica no matter how many times I tried. The bugout is the new king of edc.

All of the Cold Steel Code 4 options are better. And I could name half a dozen others that are as good or better.
I could see the American Lawman as an option, but the Code 4 is too slick for me to ever consider. Maybe if it came in G10.

..."doesn't scare too many people..." Heck, that's half the fun........ The snowflakes serve no real purpose but they are entertaining as hell. I used to get asked to open every package delivered to the front desk at one place I worked and the boss would just about have a heart attack everytime I pulled out a Victorinox Tinker and open the small blade. He would step back 3 feet and mumble " I don't like knives." Yes, I know.

I will never understand why people are scared of inanimate objects. Its pure ignorance. Even being scared of guns is stupid but atleast I can sort of understand people are ignorant and might be afraid the gun will go off by itself. (They don’t btw, thx hollywood) But a knife? Are they worried its going to leap off the table and plunge into their lung or something?

Its people who you have to be scared of. Well, certain people.

I have one Delica (black VG-10 blade) and a Salt I with a similar handle and H1 blade. Both are good knives, but for my hands, the larger Endura (3 of them) and PM2 work better. Griptilians (four) also fit my hands better than the Delica. Unfortunately, my daily carry is a Spyderco Chicago or Kershaw Shuffle and a Leatherman OHT since my workplace frowns on blades of 2 1/2 inches or larger. That keeps a lot of my collection out of my pockets on a daily basis.

For shame - I read through all of these posts and I saw no mention of the Kershaw skyline. The delica is okay but the plastic handles and big wide blade never did anything for me.

I've been down the road, and my mainstay is a 3"-3.5" fixed blade carried in a leather cross-draw sheath.

There are a lot of knives I would like to carry. But where I live I am limited to 3” legal length so the delica works for me. Some 3” and less blades could work but the clip is in the wrong place so I would not bother with them. The delica allows you to carry tip up or down and blade forward or back. The delica is made for all choices of carry where others don’t.
