Inkosi

As others have replied, the Inkosi will not share the 25's notched stop pin. I don't like the idea of a notched stop pin, but there's no way to conclude that it is a cost saving measure to require the pin to be both notched and assembled in a specific orientation - just the opposite, it would clearly cost more.

I see that one, but what about dropping the pivot bushing, what is the user gaining from this?

The one thing I really DO like about the Inkosi, just to show that I'm not just dissing this new blade, is the notch for the ceramic ball in the locking part of blade. And also the new washers look better.

I do miss the pivot bushing, it was/is an amazing feature. It's trade-off however is adjustability of pivot tightness - much more difficult (and risky) to alter the pivot action to suit individual preference on a bushing model.

I just opened my Inkosi that was delivered a few hours ago. (I'm at work as I type this.) First impression of it was "that's smaller than I thought." I've never been a big fan of finger grooves on a knife, but they definitely serve their purpose of improving grip with a handle this thin in profile. I think THAT aspect of it more than anything else is what makes the handle seem so small. It's the same width as far as the scales go, but from the spine to the blade it's much thinner. BTW I don't have large hands at all. This would disappear in many of my friends hands. However, it's so stout and like a miniature tank in it's build. The blade to handle ratio I absolutely love (I just like blades that look a bit large for the handle, like they squeezed in as much metal as they could) For all its quirks and things I would've done differently, I'm not even thinking about returning or getting rid of this one. My small 21 is still the best pocket folder ever made in my book, but the little chief has a place in this world. I'll post more later when I'm out of the office. The one part I don't get at all is this little notch carved into the spine of the blade just past the jimping. I have 2 pics of it next to my small 21 insingo micarta, but this site is making it impossible for me to load them right now. For anyone who was worried about the demise of the small sebenza; get those silly thoughts out of your head. Even Chris Reeve can't make a sebenza killer.

J just received mine today (from Knife Art).
My first impression is that it reminds me of the Umfaan.
It was definitely smaller then expected, but so far I like it.
Have not had any time to put it through its paces.

I like the looks of that! Very curious to hear about edge retention with it having the higher RC

It aboslutely grows on you, and the more i hold it the more i like it. The blade is so substantial for the size of the knife, and the lock up feels incredible. There's a buttery smooth thunky click that's music to your ears and also nice to the touch. I won't say I like it better than my small 21, but I definitely enjoy opening and closing it more than my small 21. AHHHA why can't i upload photos??

Gotta say, that thing looks like a great small knife. Looking forward to more pics and reviews. Really wondering how they would do a Micarta inlay, especially on the clip side.
Question:

How does they new angled clip arrangement feel/work?

The clip actually works well for me because i carry in my back pocket, and if you think about the motion of pulling something out of that pocket, it's actually at a bit of an outward angle as opposed to straight up veritically. I was pleasently surprised as i thought it was just a gimmicky change for the sake of a different look.

If someone doesn't mind, could they measure the length of the cutting edge and the exact overall length of the knife?

From pics, it appears that the ratios are shorter than on the Small 21, if that makes sense.

Maybe it's my eyes, but it appears the handles are much closer in length than the blades between the Sm 21 and Inkosi?

The Inkosi was waiting for me when i got home last night. It has the look and feel of a tough little fella, i wear size L Gloves and have stubby fingers and i like how it holds in hand.
It might be a great EDC forvthe office and hanging around and it feels like it can perform well.i will take pictures later today; im getting myself ready to go to work.
I was able to open it left handed easily with the double lugs and that is a big plus for me.

It looks like a "baby" 25. Not a bad thing, but the regular-sized 25 to me is already a perfect size.

I guess if I lived in an area with a 3" limit I'd be pretty stoked, though. And lastly the 3" limit is ridiculous. We are way too PC nowadays in this country, with some folks trying to reduce us all to the lowest common denominator. Total bs.

I wonder what the notch is for on the 25 and Inkosi? I agree with the 25 already being the perfect size. There are no blade size restrictions here so I usually carry a larger folder.
