Inkosi

@VolGrad: I was also wondering about the ceramic ball, but the spec sheath from CRK does not mention it - so I came to the conclusion it has not.
As for adjusting the tension of a Sebie - you are not alone. ;)

As per CRK it DOES have the ceramic ball lock interface.

Just noticed the pdf says a "new family of folding knives". I hope this means a "large" version is immanent, as I would be highly interested in the subtle improvements being "added to the 25" in the form of a Large Inkosi.

But this is supposed to be a small 25... the only thing that may happen is improvements to the 25 which I don't know how it can be improved upon. With this new inkosi, I do foresee CRK keeping the 25, the inkosi, and the umnumzaan since they are all similar in regard to having easier pivots to create. Apparently the 21 is a pain to manufacture due to the pivot and time. I think that's maybe why they're moving to that ceramic ball and the new style of main pivot. I can only imagine how long it must take to make a 21 with the lock bar being heat treated at the tip, to the incredible machining tolerances. They are so behind on custom stuff that this new design may just be easier to crank out faster.

Sweet looking piece right there. Although to be honest, I was kind of hoping for a knife in between the Small and Large Sebenza. Some days I feel my small is a tad too small while others I think the Large is too big. Can't wait to check it out!

One thing about the blade thicknesses. I put calipers on my 21 Smalls, they show .120" thick blade.

I put a measuring stick beside my 07 small reg... The cutting edge was 2.75 I was just eyeballing it though. I am looking forward to getting this new knife. Wonder if I can send it in to get a single silver stud lol

Anyone know how to add your name to the lottery??? Or do you have to attend Blade???

Is it just me, or does the lockbar/clip look like someone crossing their fingers? As luck would have it, they'll probably sell a thousand of these with no 'crossed fingers' required.

By ny measurement, my Small Sebenza 21 Insingo has a 2.964" blade (2.849" cutting edge) that's 0.117" thick. With the lanyard and titanium bar & spacer it weighs 2.97 ounces.

Ramzar I don't know if your referring to my post or not.... I am referring to a small regular sebenza blade. Not a 21 or insingo or classic

No. I just put the stats on my Small Sebenza 21 out there for reference. Of note is that the blade is not as thick as published.

Thanks MMAR. I somehow missed that part.

While i think the blade is short, I have to see one in person to deceide if i like it - but a small sturdy knife not to heavy..
got to love that. :)

I felt the Small 21 was (my limit) for a small knife.
I will have to see how the Inkosi feels to decide, because as another member stated the Techno is a pretty short knife that has become very popular.(I have one)

:(I see the demise of the 21 though in this.

It only makes sense that the 21 is going to be phased out. The 25/umnumzaan style from my understanding is just easier to make. And easier to make means easier to produce and get out to the consumers.

If this were true, then it's going to be a sad sad day for me. I am a big fan of the 21s and would not exchange them for a 25... :grumpy:

I know, it's sad. =\ But the CRK quality will still be there, and the customer service and everything. After much pondering on this, I am not too scared of the future. lol

I'm sure it's gonna be great, but, to be honest, I've been losing interest in CRK since they discontinued the Regulars several years ago now. I was hoping the 25 was going to win me over, but it hasn't to this point. I doubt this smaller model will do it for me, either.

I'm in the same boat. I have a Spyderco Techo (and a few other small chunky folders) and love that knife, but when compared to the small Sebenza, it's got some girth to it. I don't think I could handle a smaller Sebenza.

I really don't want to dismiss the Inkosi tho - I will reserve judgement until I can hold one in my hand(s)
