Joe Allen Knives

Not sure why the clip would not be viable for this pattern, It sets well an not raised up high and doesn't hit anything when seated. Of course I could have modified the end area of the spring to make it more suitable , But any factory could have done that also. The pattern i used to make this knife had a clip blade,go to page 8 scroll down to Feb 11-2017 an see the original pattern an then scroll down just a little to see the knife i made out of the pattern in Box Elder .

I’m not much into the design or the how to’s just the end result. I leave that up to the makers. No matter how it looks great.

Heres the new pictures of this knife it is tight an super flush in all three positions, Blade is centered very well . Stag is a little lop sided but not bad. The Bolster is a pain to keep scratches out of , but I got it done. Pull is a little strong around 5 . Hope you enjoy this knife please comment if you feel like it.

Happy New Year to All. This is my last knife this year an going out with a big Bang _no just a Big Coke Bottle in Mammoth Ivory. This is the kind of knife that looks an feels better in person than what A PICTURE CAN SHOW. The Blade is Cpm -154 cryo treated an ends up at 60-61 rc. The .123 thick satin finnished blade is 4 1/8" long. with an over all length of 9 1/2" Long. Flush in the opening an closing positions -no half stop on this one. Blade is a tad off center ,but all fitnesses are great.Look it over, comment if you want. Thanks for looking .

Hi Everyone, Here is my first knife of the year, as I only make a few each year. This is a first for me ,it is a two bladed Hunter in the smaller 4 inch version an in Stailized Box Elder wood. the steel is CPM-154 Heat treated to a final 60 -61 rc. The blades are close to 2 7/8” long an open is 7 1/4” an closed length is 4”. Blades are flush in all three positions. All comments good or bad are welcome. More details are in the for sale section of knifemakers folder area. This knife has a fine satin finnish with 6000 grit hand sanded bolsters and inside back spring. Thanks for looking. Joe.

Thanks Railsplitter ,if I did not have a solder bubble show up at the finnish ,it would have been one of my perfect knives ,but again bad luck came around.

Another beauty Joe. You don’t want perfect because then you’d have to quit.

Hi to all , I have been working part time on this big Folding Hunter for a while and finally got it done , just some bolster cleaning before i ship it out. This Beast measures almost 9 1/2 “ open and 5 3/8” closed. It has Redwood Burl for wood , it was supposed to be stabilzed says the person who sold it to me , But it felt very light an dry ,so I dryed it in oven to make sure it was dry and put all the Redwood I bought from this dealer in my stabilizing tank an it bubbled up like crasy, so much for that guys stabilization. Run the motor for 2 hours left the pressure on over night an another 2 hours next day, then put them back in oven to dry for a while. But this monster came out ok. Blades are on the soft side opening ,but do have good snap in both positions. CPM-154 steel at 60-61 final rc. Hope you enjoy seeing these old classics once in a while. God Bless Everyone an stay healthy.
