July 14, 2022 botm 119 full flat grind

I think it's really nice, it's basically a cheaper version of the 119 Pro with a full flat grind instead of a hollow grind, so you're getting a better version for less, and with a limited time handle that looks really attractive.
I like it, but unfortunately I can't afford it. Just as well, I prefer the larger 120. This is definitely something that my brother will be interested in though.

Please don't misunderstand my statement. It's a great knife! Whether or not it's worth the money is subjective.

Consider this... the Club discount on the Pro makes this BOTM a $75 premium over the Pro. It's no bargain, and at 750 pieces, it's far less exclusive than a 200pc run, right?

Pick a pattern that isn't already over done. One that didn't just capitalize on its 75th anniversary a few short years ago. One that is exclusive in its own rite. 303, 302, 700, 107, 118 or perhaps an EDC type fixed blade?

Perhaps a special handle? Sambar stag, ram horn, smooth buffalo, abalone, exotic wood.

I guess I'm just tired of super steel and composite handles and paint from a maker whose brand was built on organic handles and usable steels.

I am glad they left the Cerakote on the shelf though!

I passed too... have 2 other red handled 119's and this one didn't move my collection forward (and it's not like I need another 119 ;-) ). I agree about the more organic handles... I'd bet if they did this in bone it would be gone by now. I'd have grabbed one for me, and one each for the grandsons. Maybe next month, eh Buck?

Well... since 119's are the mainstay of my accumulating/collection wheelhouse, I sprung for one.

I already have the flat grind 420HC black phenolic handle version that C&C did a few years ago, this one will pair nicely with it. Personally, I like the flat grind, much easier to sharpen in my opinion and they are great slicers.

Yeah, without the BCCI discount the price does sting a little, but I'm approaching 70 and I'm a firm subscriber of the old adage of "money... you can't take it with you", so what the heck... live a little. All I know is that when it joins the rest of my 119's, it will make me smile, and in these times there's not a lot to smile about after going grocery shopping and hitting the gas pump.

It's nice.
I have Custom Shop knives I've wanted, so..... I was waiting to see what this was first.

For future reference the OP should change the thread title to include what the knife is, and year.
It's a big help for future searches.

It's sorta the responsibility of creating the BOTM thread.
Thanks. L Last12know

This seems a rather lackluster BOTM. Buck has the green micarta handled s35v already out which, with the BCCI discount is much less expensive. I'm not a fan of the grind marks on the blade. While full flat ground is nice I don't have a problem with the slicing ability of the standard grind. The fuller is simply a cosmetic difference and not significant to me.

Well, I bought one but kinda agree with MT_Pokt MT_Pokt that something more special would be nicer.
Did you guys see the Red Slim Selects 110/112 on sale. I picked up both the Red and Green pairs for the collection.
Added in an extra Red 110 for my EDC heard.
y'all have solid points, but its kinda special in that we don't see many fixed blades in ffg from Buck. this is the second 119 in ffg, both limited runs. besides these two only a few others I can think of, least in modern times.

truth be told I like s35vn, but would have preferred 5160 in ffg myself....and im not a fan really of red micarta.......but we don't get what we really want often, if ever..........
