Kershaw Knives News Thread

Sooo....I find this thread on page 11 of the site. Any chance that it can be revived? Any new products to be expected Thomas, or should I refer to the new website?

Just got my Kershaw Ken Onion gray Ti handled Bump yesterday. What a beauty. It's not as big as I thought it would be from pics I've seen on the Web. While checking it out I noticed that the framelock doesn't engage the back of the blade very well, barely making contact with the edge. I am actually afraid to use the knife because of it. I checked the paperwork on it for sending it back to Kershaw but it also says to include a copy of the original sales receipt. I purchased this knife new from a Forum member, will Kershaw still fix it?

Psi, yea, makes me feel like we need our own forum. Info gets lost on large threads like these. Maybe once my travel schedule slows down I'll see about setting one up here.

JYD's, Need's Work's, and Groove's are a week away from hitting the market.

The Ti/ZDP Cyclone (1000 pieces) will start to ship by the end of the month as well.

Hmmm...working on a SG2 laminate project for later in the summer.

There will be a high end Groove and large JYD over the next 60 days or so.

Playing with a wicked Ken Onion Tirade proto that looks like it would fit nicely in somebody's pocket when we go production with it.

The Kato (500 pieces run) is a fixed blade tanto show piece done up in the VG-10 Clad (16 layers, like in the Shun kitchen knives) that will be out in Feb.

I guess that is it for now.

pkd, if you feel unconfortable with the lock, please send it in, and we will give it tune up.

Any news on uncoated Boa?
I've missed old "splattered handle" on ebay… oh what a torture… it has flown for only $80

Lenny, sorry no uncoated Boa scheduled.

Lone Hunter, there was a Strider Fixed blade collaboration, a Galyean boot knife, and the Hawk's M.U.D.D. knife that made their debut at SHOT. I'll see about posting a few images soon.
There will be more new items for Kershaw and ZT at this year's Blade Show as well.

Thanks, Thomas W. It would make feel better about using it. I'll be sending it out today or tomorrow.

I really like this Gray Ti Bump (thanks Kershawguy). From looking at pics of the different variants of handle types, it looked a lot bigger. This could very well become an EDC for me. Gorgeous knife!

Is the Ti/ZDP Cyclone going to be the fullsize or Mini? I'm looking for it right now for pre-order.

Just a note to say thanks to Thomas for the valuable info and to add a vote for a Kershaw forum.

I was at my local knife shop the other day, looking to add another Buck to the collection, when I asked to see a Kershaw Blackout. Well, once I felt the ergonomics and played with the speedsafe, I was hooked. I left the shop with a Blackout and a Mini-Cyclone. Currently, I have two Leeks and a Bump on order this month, while I wait for the JYD's to come in. Yes, I am hooked. ;)

My thanks to Kershaw for making a high quality product at a very reasonable price. Now, if I can just figure out how to justify this latest addiction to my wife. :D

A.P.F., thanks for the support, some nice blades you picked up. Please apologize to the wife for me.

Welcome to the forums btw.

Thanks for the update Thomas, and I'm impressed with what's coming out in the soon future. Ti/ZDP mini-cyclone is a definite buy for me.:D

I'm with you APF...Kershaw's a top quality knife company with excellent customer service. And I second the appreciation to Thomas' efforts in corresponding with the consumers on and off the BF.

Oh yeah, a Kershaw forum would be most excellent!

Wha wha what???!!! A KO Tirade???!!! That's one of my favorite, if not my favorite KO design! If that comes out as a Kershaw standard offering, I'm picking one or two or I don't know how many up! Puh-lease release it Thomas!!!!

Just another 2007 line question...

I read some time ago about the 2007 Random Leek going to be ready in mid jan, is there any news about it? I'd like to see a pic and to know the materials, I missed the old one and thats not going to happen again.

Thanks a lot Thomas for being so nice answering all this questions :)

SanShou, yes the Random Leek was due out on Jan., but it looks like mid Feb. will be the release date.

The RL will be a stainless framelock with S30V steel and a chromium nitride finish. MSRP $129.95

Kershaw is considering making a knife based on the KO Tirade! AWESOME! Hope it has the Speed safe and S30V Steel like the KO Custom! Frame Lock, no G-10, no Blade coating!

I get the first one! Or two!

While you're at it Thomas, consider out the Taboo! It's my all-time favorite Custom Knife!
