Hey all,
I bought a Speed Bump with black aluminum scales last week on egay and it arrived today, thought I'd give you a short review/initial impressions.
Blade. Sandvik steel, bead blasted, much more up swept than the Titanium Bump I own, and I like it that way, shaving sharp out of the box.
Handle. Black aluminum, not ovalized at all like the T Bump, a handful and that's a good thing to me, thick steel liners, fit and finish very nice, my first aluminum handled knife.
Overall. Stud lock a little sticky right now, put some tuffglide on it, beginning to loosen up, but not by too much. It's heavy, 5.5 ounces on my kitchen scales, about 1 oz. over my self professed limit, heavy in the hand but doesn't pull me trousers down, an added +

I'm sure my wife is happy with that

. That said I really like this knife, it doesn't have the super steel like the Boa (my other choice), but the price was right and I like the stud lock better than a liner lock.
Pros: Cheap, $60 delivered, stud lock easy to get used to. I prefer shiny and/or bead blasted to black blades. Lighter and far more cheaper IIRC that the Spec Bump.
Cons: Sandvik steel VS. S30V, but when you consider how much cheaper, no complaints. Heavy, but not too heavy. I'd recommend it to anyone wanting to try out a full size Kershaw Onion, but may not have the scratch for a Spec Bump.
Cheers,
Rob
