Kershaw Knives News Thread

I agree with aafanatic, a ZDP Spec Bump would be a guaranteed buy for me. Watching (and losing) all the various Bump auctions on eBay tells me that there is still quite a bit of interest in the Bump pattern.

K.O.'s new Dead Sexy, as a ZDP production knife, would be a great alternative if Kershaw can't be convinced to do another bump.

i agree with kneedeep. the "dead sexy" would be an awsome production folder. i know i would buy. the taboo's would be awsome also

Mr. Thomas W., I ordered and am waiting on the ZDP Cyclone. Can you give me the RC numbers you guys treated it too? Edge angle. More or less obtuse than the ZDP leek. I've been waiting for this since I heard about it. Thank you Thomas, and keep the good stuff coming. It's pretty well obvious when knife people are in on the descision cycle.

My thanks, and much success to you. It benefits us all :) Joe/Raleigh

The ZDP Cyclone is available at www.knifecenter.com for $135! Good picture too.

Ordered mine too, this morning. Web site on Sunday said it should ship w/in a week, but today it said in stock. When I called, they said they'd get some in and that it'd ship Wednesday or Thursday.

Now I can't wait. Looks like I'll be out of town when it gets in too. Dang!!:grumpy:

Well, I would like the thank the NYGIANTSFAN for posting the link, as I ordered mine today.
I have the JYD and JYD II, probably all three as a result of this thread and the great reviews given in other parts of the forum. :D
I will agree on all the positive remarks concerning these knives.
MY thanks to BladeForums and all the fellow knife enthusiasts.

Tom aka "Kershaws" Rool

I totally agree, i loved the Bump blade design, and i find it very useful. however, a ZDP bump would make it irresistable.

I just ordered two speed bumps with the plastic handles......lets see how they hold up.....I have a ton of Kershaws so I expect they will be good......they were $44.95 each so the price was right....

Hey, got a question about the Storm and Storm II if anyone knows the answer. I like the Storms but I'm not crazy about the clips on them. Does anyone know if any other Kershaw clips are of the right size to be swapped with the original Storm clip on either/both sizes of Storm? Thanks for any info.

I also plucked one from KCI (thanks,NYGF!), should be here Monday. I'll post once she is in my hands.

The Taboo is my favorite knife by Ken Onion! I would love a Kershaw Taboo!!!

ok i know i am way late on talking about this, but oh well. i wouldn't care if i had to put down $500 or something for a production taboo. It would be so worth it. It is my second fav kershaw/ken onion knife. the offset is number one (look at my name duh) then the taboo, then the damascus taboo. number 2 and 3 would be awsome as production folders. maybe with vg-10 or 13c26 or s30v for the blade with Ti handles? go for custom without being custom. what think Thomas?

Tom W....
A few quick questions. I just got a Needs Work which is "First Production ,number 1 of 500", dated Feb. 07. Is this, in deed, the first knife produced in this line? How many do you plan to produce? Any changes with the next run?
Thanks.

Well, I'm not Thomas but I'll see what I can do. I'm pretty sure all of the first 500 bear the same "First Production 1 of 500" mark so yours would be one of the first 500 and not necessarily the first. As to the other questions, Kershaw labels the first 500 pieces of all new regular production products so the question of how many they'll make is "as many as they can sell." As for changes, I doubt you will see any unless Kershaw decides that the knive warrants improvement or upgrading.

Thanks Max. I didn't look at it as 1 of many, but rather #1 of 500 (like numbered prints). I suppose that my excitement at the prospect of have a potential collectable, blurred my ability to "see the forest", so to speak.

Amen Brother! The Taboo would be a knife, and a piece of art! I would have to buy two, one to use, the other to photograph and wipe down with cashmere...

Thomas, I think two Taboo lovers is enough fiscal justification to create a 500 run production knife. Don't you??? S30V and Titanium, nothing major. :D Dont forget the shaped G-10 inserts!

yes, colored g-10 inserts at that. maybe blue or red or yellow. i know im drooling thinking about it lol. who else other than jeremy and i feel this way?

Has anyone seen the custom handmade Junkyard Dog II at the back of the current issue of Blade? Man, what a beautiful knife!

Well the KnifeCenter came thru for me. I ordered mine on Monday along with a BM 940 and they both showed up yesterday. Too bad I was out of the office. I have everything shipped to the office cause it's a business address and shipping is easier/more secure that way.

But anyway, when I got in this morning, it was waiting on my desk. Since there is a thread with some good pics by Kohai and HarryWhite, I won't post any. But suffice it to say, this knife is everything that Kershaw (and all of us) wanted it to be. Shaved a patch of hair off my arm using as much of the edge as I could. It feels nice in my hand and it'll be my new EDC at about 1 o'clock IWB, behind my belt. I'm going to have to change it to tip up tho. But Kershaw thought of that too.

Thomas and Kershaw; ya'all done good!!!
