I'm really happy this thread didn't go super negative! I really wanted a SHBM but, next time! I scored two blades I really wanted and got to hang out and meet some really cool hogs! I hope everyone got at least one they wanted, like I said I almost had a shot at a user old school slotted bolt mean street! That just walked up out of nowhere!!!! That was worth the trip. And the war stories from Peter!!!! I had a great time with my Busse Family! I don't have INFI but I can make whatever knives I want anytime but, I enjoy the friend side Busse Combat!

But, I don't take the collecting of Knives as serious as others. Motor and Ducci, I can understand your points and think they are totally valid. Jeremy

I think the main idea here is that when Jerry posted the pictures of the knives that were going to be at Knob Creek, a lot of people saw special older knives and had the hope of possibly getting one. Now,if they make the commitment to attend the show, spend the time, effort, money and do all the tricks they can to get to the table first for the best selection and find out that some of the knives didn't make it, they (and I would too) feel kind of cheated. I know Blade East and Blade West don't pre-sell any knives as I have been in the show early many times and they haven't been out for sale until the show doors open. I saw the pictures Eric posted of the knives that were still left on Saturday, but none of them would have been the ones I would have made the effort to have been there on Friday to get that I saw in Jerry's pictures. Maybe some of those knives are still back at the shop and didn't make the trip, but there was an expectation that they would be at Knob Creek for sale.

I like custom folders, that is part of the reason why I go to Blade (East). The custom makers only make a few knives each and usually post some pictures the week before. Since they only have a few knives to sell, some will have a drawing, lotto, or even a silent auction, others will just have them on the table when the doors open as a first come, first serve, offering. I would be very dissappointed if I got there and the knives had been sold the night before. Like a previous poster said, they could just save the money going to the show and just order a knife or get one with a markup on the forums and be time and money ahead.

:D

Were there any SFNO's or SJ's with micarta when the show opened Friday morning?

If so, who got them? We need a pic of those:thumbup:

I have a hunch the SJ s were sold b4 the show :)...There were only about 5 of them ..

I don't think one should have to 'pay dues' to buy a product. If someone beat me to it, so be it. If someone got a chance to buy it before doors opened because they've got 75k worth of Busse knives in their safe, just let me know that's how it is. The knives cost enough as it is, then you tack on air fare, hotel, rental and what not just to see there's nothing to buy then what do you do? No regrets? If that's how it's run, then be up front about it then it doesn't cause any concern.
There's a lot of things that are great about Busse knives and the community. There are some things that are just, well, plain wierd I guess.
Just my meager two cents.

... And the war stories from Peter!!!! ...
That's Steel Fan, right? I talked with him for a good while and remembered that his his name started with a 'P', but couldn't recall it when I got home -- now I'm thinking perhaps Peter Watts? I'm so terrible with names. He was a very nice fellow and I was unhappy that I couldn't remember his name.

The Argonne Assault was satin, the G-10 was blacker than the devil and bone whiter than the driven snow.

This will be the first line of my novel.. prologue! what you think so far... This is True I held it!:D

And the Cover Art!!!
