Knife addiction

I don't have a knife addiction. I only carry what I need. I have a big SAK in a sheath on my belt, a Winchester multitool, on my belt, a small SAK in my pocket, a Colt Cobra clipped to my front pocket. Oh, a Byrd Talon clipped to my back pocket. And an old Camillus US army knife in my front pocket. And a small fixed blade in a sheath in my pocket. Sometimes a 7" Marbles fixed blade in my back waisteband...

I NEED all of these, right?
I mean, what if one got dull?

I am not an Addict, I am a Collector.
I am not an Addict, it is just too difficult to get knives sent to where I live.
But if I lived in the US where there was a three day delivery, I could see changing my status.

My girls see me as a Collector, especially when they see a new knife and "Oh Daddy" me; and they walk off with it...
They ARE addicted to shoes and clothes...

Whats goin on ?? Nobody's posting any new blades to look at. I think I'm addicted to this site!!!

I have FOUR inbound right now. I think this is a record for me. Two were bought, two were traded for...

And yet, every day the first thing I do is check the exchange....

Addicted? Who, me?

I'm close to being done buying, which should take me off the 'addict candidate' list for good.

Thanks to the excellent info on BF, carefully choosing about a half dozen folders, a half dozen fixed blades, and a handful of fibrox-handled Forschners for the kitchen has me almost completely covered.

I'd like to get a dozen Moras to sprinkle across the vehicles and BOBs, and I wouldn't mind getting a small and an insanely large khuk to bracket my HI CAK, perhaps a 15" WW2 or villager and a 20+" AK.

I've pretty much lost interest in folders as users (but not for tactical purposes), so I could either sell my users at a discount or leave them kicking around for my son to play with as he gets older.

And khuks, well, swinging a khuk is like salve for the soul in these troubled times, so I wouldn't mind having a backup.

Yes, I think I am in the early stages of addiction. Denial! I'm not an addict, I'm a collector.

OK I have spent a week and a half's wages on 5 new knives in the past 2 weeks. And I have a modestly small collection of about 15 existing. However, I am following an earlier posters example, they must fit in the box or something has to go. (Thankfully Kershaw's are slim). I try to keep the boxes.

I feel nothing for guns, but I am in the UK anyway so that is a relief. Not a lot of my friends understand my problem, they can't see the beauty in it.

I'm off to get my first Spyderco in 1.5 hours, for my fix!

Good advice 5.56. I may make you a board member! Anyone see that Extrema Ratio Mr. Horton has up on production knives ? Contol, control, control ! I must maintain !

No worries Nikoknife48, I emailed the seller and told him "by all means" not to sell the Extreme Ratio to you:D

You're welcome;)

Meh, life's too short to not enjoy the little things that make you happy! I bought 3 last week, with 3 more inbound!

Just Arrived, thanks Padad24l

This will hold me over the next few days until my next 2 arrive on Fri.

Having an account on a knife forum could be one of the signes to look out for :p

That's sign #1. Here are the rest.

2. The fact that you check that site multiple times per day.

3. Buying a knife that you know you'll never use because it looks cool or might be worth something someday.

4. Buying the newest model by a brand you like, because it's, well... new.

5. You have to sell a knife any time tragedy strikes in order to stabilize the situation.

6. Your knife purchases increase when you drink, have a good day at work, have a bad day at work, get in a fight with your spouse, or pretty much experience anything else.

7. You buy fighting knives but don't traverse dangerous areas.

8. You buy hunting knives but don't hunt.

9. You buy camp knives but live in NYC (or Boston or Tokyo or etc).

Last but not least...

10. You deny that you have a problem.

I have been collecting sine I was 8 ( 41 years ago). I once dated a girl who was into astrology and she did a "star map" of me and found that I have a uncontrolable attraction to metal. So there you go, the stars have forced me to buy the 1,000+ knives I own !!!
I have had three girlfriends who were into knives also that helped me feel OK.....
