Ive known Larry a long time too, but there is NO excuse for his behavior.
He owes people knives and ignores them.
As stated in an earlier post of mine, he owes 2 of my collector friends knives. One of them paid half up front for one of his "forged from river sand" knives 2 1/2 years ago. Both of them tried sending him registered letters, emails, phone calls to no avail.
Being sick is one thing, but not communicating leads people into thinking that they are NEVER going to get their knives.

It seems you have chosen to do neither...which makes me question if you were ever capable of either. Why would you possibly want to post something like this ^^^? If he truly is your friend then you aren't doing him any favors with posts like this.

Talon, my post was not intended for you. I just don't like the attitude some people around here have. If you go back you will see I suggested this be handled in a professional manor, that people file formal complaints with ABS. Instead its a bunch of internet ninja nonsense. One guy was even suggesting I was a thief because I know Harley and see him once maybe twice a year. Another post was somehow suggesting I should drive half way across the United States to go confront the man, now I'm the bad guy. The truth is if you get ripped off most of the time its your own fault, funny I have never been ripped off in this business or been accused of ripping off anyone, yet I'm now the bad guy, a troll. Its nothing new, Esev or somebody banned me the first time for standing up to Mick Strider and his bunch of brainwashed patriots after they attacked me and I stood my ground. I just don't have time to deal with anyone I don't see as being professional, In the end that may include Larry if he does not get this situation under control pretty soon, till then jury is still out.

What you were seeking was for everyone to say "Yes Bubba we are sorry and could you please help us, pretty please"? When they didn't work out for you decided you would take your toys (real or imagined) and go home.
Me? I don't believe you are in a position to do anything. If you were anyone's friend or a man you sure wouldn't have taken the stance you have. You have pretty much laid your cards on the table and you have nothing.
Hey since you believe so strongly about his character why don't you just pay everyone back and get it from him yourself? Cuz that is just the way it works with guys like this and that should be fine.
One guy just wants his knife returned. You can print a label out online and the post office will pick it up at your door. You know when they are there to drop off the "check". I wonder what the excuse is for not returning the man's knife? I can only think of one myself.
Just about everyone is cool during the good times. How you handle yourself when your back is up against the wall shows what kind of man you really are.

I believe your getting the internet confused with reality. You cannot "Put up or shut up" on the internet. You can type, read, post pictures, buy, watch porn, maybe pay a bill if you have Visa, that's about it.

You can say "hi" to me any time at a show, Bubba, so can Larry. Last time I saw him at Blade he just gave me stinkeye from across the room.

this thread has been quite an interesting read, I can understand where bubba is coming from if you had a good friend and people were questioning his integrity for whatever reason you stand up for him, well at least I would

I have never defended a dishonest deal. My intention was to point out the fact that people were getting on the "Larry is a POS" bus a bit early. Now others are forming a virtual lynch mob on here. As far as I know Larry has not ripped of anyone and is trying fix a problem that is out of control. Now I'm the bad guy, the troll, the POS, and everything else, seems like plenty of people are breaking the forum rules in making personal attacks including a mod.
Spark knows exactly who I am, if he wants me off here no problem, his forum. Other people might want to think twice about jumping all over people they don't know as this is a small world, you never know when you yourself may need a friend.

Current count is at least five folks that your friend has stolen knives/money from. This knowledge has come about because I started this thread and it came to the attention of others in the same boat.

Bubba, if you really are in contact with him then you aren't doing him any favors with your posts on here. There are too many people who say he owes them for there not to be some truth in it. Defending him helps no one, but encouraging him to deal with these issues would. Otherwise you are just stirring the pot.
I know I don't have a dog in this fight, but I remember Larry from way back in the days of rec.knives when he was a really interesting and helpful presence. I just hate to see him lose his reputation and maybe his livelihood if there is some way for him to salvage them.
