Let's see your Shadetree

Missing a newly acquired Arete with black bolster over emerald

Wow!!!

Mega-Wow!! That is a stunning group of bolstered beauties. You did a great job of locking in on your theme. The variety of colors really stands out against the black bolsters. The Tangerine Hiking Buddy is my favorite of the group. That one really pops!

Thanks for sharing the photo.

First look at a finished Electric Plum Shadetree handle compliments of Dylan Fletcher:

This model is a Delta Recurve:

I like the way Dylan incorporated the brass google eye pins to pick up on the brass threads in the burlap.

So.......what do you folks think of this new addition to the Shadtree Electric Burlap line up ?

BTW, if you haven't yet experienced one of Dylan's knives his handle ergos are fantastic and his blades are wicked sharp.

Note: A special shout out to Mistwalker for influencing my purchase of a Delta Recurve.....thanks Brian !

I am digging that new Electric Plum color a lot. I can't wait to see it show up on some knives. Dylan did a great on that one with the unique pin set-up to compliment the burlap.

I have not posted an update to this thread in a while. Since I got three knives at the Blade Show in two new Shadetree colors for me, it seems like a fitting time for an update. I already posted some of these photos in the Blade Show purchases thread, but here is the full set.

The three knives are:

Fiddleback Bushcrafter Jr. with black bolsters & Tangerine burlap.
T.M. Hunt “Yuma” with black bolsters & Tangerine burlap.
T.M. Hunt “Magua” with Electric Plum burlap

Here is the Magua with one of swonot’s firesteels.

I am really digging this Electric Plum color.

I also picked up one of Kevroo’s custom beads at the Shadetree booth. It is very nicely finished and look at how well it matches up with the color of the paracord. Very nice indeed!

Great updates Phil. I had a feeling you might be gunning for that BC Jr. from Blade. Thank you for the pics on the Elec Plum. It looks pretty nice on a finished knife - I really like the metallic bits exploding all over

Phil!

Thank you for the complements/kind words. As always, the pictures are excellent. I'm thrilled to see someone post pictures as well. I am still unsure of what (if any) type of finish to apply but as of now, I just use these micro-mesh pen polishing pads. The 12,000 grit gives it that high gloss finish.

I have to see about gathering a few pieces of electric plum, I bet it will finish nicely.

I have it on good authority that you are the fella I need to thank for sending in some electric orange to fiddleback.....
So Thank You!
That was awesome.
In case you haven't seen what it became here it is...

Hi there Vance!

I did indeed send that Electric Orange, you guys are most certainly welcome. I still have a couple of small pieces.

Been sitting here at work on a pretty slow day thinking of dream handle combinations and I think I settled on something cool. Copper Lightning strike carbon fiber bolsters bisected diagonally with a damascus band and Shadetree Electric plum burlap. Finished with Carbon fiber pins in the bolster and a couple brass mosaics in the burlap. Brass lanyard tube, chamfered.

Been a while since I've posted an update in this thread. Cool seeing all the Shadetree, including some new variations I hope to pick up some day.

Here's the current state of my Shadetree collection:

Nice Longfellow!! What is that one of three?

Thanks for the update Nathan. That is an enviable group of prime knives and handle combinations. Your photos always do a great job of capturing the true colors of the burlap.

Happy Father's Day my friend.

Thanks Joe. As far as I know there are only 3. One in Drunken Burlap, one in Python and this one in Oreo.

Thank you Phil! I'll always be envious of your Shadetree collection, but I'm pretty happy with the set I've been able to put together so far.
