Let's see your Shadetree

I fell in love with ShadeTree scales when I saw them on Andy's knives. I like the material so much that I sent some to Dylan for my Pro6-5 and to LTWright for my custom Canadian belt knife.

Let me know if you ever decide to get rid of that Scandi Bow Legged Joe. Love the color combo on that one.:thumbup:

That is a very interesting collection ShamrOck. Great variety of makers and Shadetree colors. I like it.

Professor in a blender Camp, and Coffeebag Duke

I love the the nice dark spalting on both of those. I also really like it when red and/or green highlights show up in the coffeebag burlap. That is a very nice pair of larger Fiddlebacks. What model(s) are next on your wish list?

Thanks for sharing the photo.

Phil

Thanks for the kind words Phil. The dark spalting is part of the reason why I had to have these two, I'm a sucker for the heavy spalting. Completely agree on the red/green in the coffeebag as well. Everytime I look at this Duke I notice more red and green streaks and highlights. It's such a pretty material especially in person.

I'm hoping for either a Competition Cutter or a heavily spalted 3/16 TT Bushcrafter next. Although after snagging Dcaggie's curly cue shadetree Hunter the other day, my credit card is begging me for mercy.

I think Phil is starting to rub off on me....

Don't fight the power of the Shady side Master Phillip...It is your destiny! :triumphant:

The new Leuku looks great. What's the story on the Big Paw? I don't remember that one in your collection.

Lookin good overall!

Phil

I actually left one out, just because the red stood out so much.

Its definitely getting there. I can believe how hard its been to try for a BC in emerald, sapphire or oreo with black pins. I think my perfect BC now would be black bolstered, evergreen shadetree, 5/32 with a TT.

The big paw was a model I hadn't tried and couldn't pass on the opportunity. Its also one of the only sapphire I've seen with thick black and lime instead of black and white. I really like the black and lime combo. I have 10 of those now.

Phillip, great knives and great photos! The colors really pop. Loving the blue and green.

I had the knives out today for cleaning and oiling and tried to get an updated shadetree pic. Dreary day doesn't help, but I thought I'd give it a shot anyway.

I always love seeing your Woodsman. The longfellow is really growing on me too!

Nathan,

The color and symmetry in your orange theme photo is really amazing. That is a frameable photo for sure.

What are your initial thoughts on the Shank? That is a model that has never struck a chord with me before, but your photo showing it side by side with the other models has me looking at it in a new light.

Thanks,

Phil

Nathan - that shank is a great addition to your collection. It looks like a fun knife to use.

Thanks Phil. I haven't had enough time with the Shank yet. It's surprisingly comfortable though. My plan is to use it as a paring knife in the kitchen and when camping.

Thank Tod. It's a great match for the Camp and makes a good bookend on my Shadetree collection. I don't normally like more tactical looking knives, but the Shank is a fun little knife that will be useful in the kitchen and camp.

Man Thurin,
I really thought about PMing you about that shank since it was burlap and had orange liners a couple of times hahahaha. Awesome that you already were thinking it too. Congrats.

I was originally going to post these photos in the “Two for Tuesday” thread, but we are overdue for a bump in the Shadetree thread.

Here is the somewhat rare Electric Orange burlap on a Duke and Camp Knife.

I hope this brightens your winter day a little.
