Let's see your Shadetree

“Watermelon Knife Block”

I had the idea for this photo arrangement in my head for a couple of months. I was just waiting for my local farm market to put out some fresh yellow watermelons. I wanted yellow because it contrasts nicely with the Shadetree burlap colors.

Here a couple of teaser shots from a larger photo group that I will post here over the weekend. I also have a couple more knives due back this week that I need to work into the mix. My rainbow is filling out pretty well at this point.

Have I ever mentioned that I am a big fan of Shadetree burlaps? :) :D

That is just about the coolest thing I've ever seen.

I had no idea you were a fan of shadetree ;)

That is a beautiful collection Comprehensivist!

I agree Solid, bright yellow would be nice. I'm still just hoping to get my hands on one in orange.

Anybody have some burlap that's been worked? I know it starts changing color. I'd like to see some that's actually been used and not scrubbed clean.

Awesome photo Phil. Yellow was definitely the melon color to choose.

After a week of using my burlap Sneaky Pete, it definitely gets some transfer from the sheath and it gets gets a gritty feel from the dirt on my hands, but it pretty much rubs out with my thumb and a little spit. I'll take some photos of it around the campsite next week to document at what stage grime gets through the polish and how it looks.

Phil! That is sick! Like an edible arrangement of Fiddlebacks!!

Anyone who wants to send me that for my birthday is more than welcome. I'll send you my address. No card necessary.

Awesome group and picture Phil. I don't know why, but when I first saw the top picture it put me in mind of a Choir singing Handel's Alleluia Chorus.

That's awesome Phil. The watermelon was a cool idea! Someday, some year if my bro ever sends it, I'll have a sapphire BF. I've never physically seen or held a Shadetree burlap, but they sure do look nice. Nathan's electric orange Camp Nessie is my favorite, although your bolstered one comes in a close second!

Phil:

I agree with Walt......it looks like a choir of Fiddlebacks !

Awesome mellon.....the knives aren't too bad either :p

Please do. I'm interested in seeing how that stuff ages. All the shadetree handles I see look like safe queens. Don't get me wrong, I like it when Fiddlebacks have been taken care of and preserved, I just want to see how that stuff holds up after heavy use. Perhaps I should just buy one and find out for myself.

I looked all over 1800Flowers.com but couldn't find the Fiddleback Gift Melon w/ Shadetree anywhere!! :D

Fabulous photos, stunning collection.
