Like a phoenix? CSC is reborn...

My only CSC knife is the 2015 forum knife. My example is near perfect and makes me want another. Before that knife I stayed away from them because I’m not a fan of the shield that seemed to be on most of their knives. It doesn’t bother me as much now but I’ll still likely be looking for one without it. I’m very exited to to how this goes...

Hey folks, just a little clarification; It's not a wharncliffe blade, it's a sheepfoot. Not sure how they mixed that one up. I do see a wharncliffe sometime in the future though.

Eric

I thought that must be the case Eric, thanks for clarification.

Do you know if they will always be sold on a pre-order basis? I generally avoid up front payments for knives.

Yes indeedy! So far it's me and another gent, Kenny, who also worked at the old shop. He's another guy who could sit at any department and do amazing work. I've got a picture of him here from the old days but it's only from the back lol!

(Say, what happened to the button for adding photos or attachments from your files? Don't see it anymore.)

Eric

That's great news!

glad to hear you are on board @ea42@ I loved those Eric's Jacks and im signed up for two of those boys knives! no chance I can convince you to put a clip on the stag instead of that wharncliffe is there?:D;) ( I jumped the gun and preordered with out reading when I saw stag)

totally; i would have snagged up 2 boy's knives if the stag was a clip!

Glad to hear your going back to work Eric ! I called Red Hills today to make sure I was in line . She told me that their about sold out, so if any one wants one of the first run ,you better get with it !

I have never had or even seen (in person) a CSC knife. From reading the posts here, it seems they have a good following. Since they are just starting back up and the runs are presently going to be small numbers, I would expect everything on these first knives to be superb. The company has to figure that ALL of the knives in these first runs will be critiqued unmercifully. Any problems will be exaggerated. I'm planning on seeing nothing but positive posts.

I am rooting for them to be very successful. I love when a company can make a triumphant return. I don't know him, but after reading Eric's posts and hearing forum member's excitement for his return, it has me looking forward to seeing some of the knives being posted here! I hope all their employees are passionate about their work and the company thrives.

BTW, I wonder why they didn't post any stag handle pictures? It seems like stag would be one of the easiest handle materials to get.

Mine was so bad that I wouldn't go near CSC including in their new form.

Downsizing and increasing the quality and eye for detail sounds like good strategy to me!

A lot of taper for a sheepsfoot, I would have thought. But seeking certainty in knife nomenclature is a mug's game.

And good luck with it all.

Like any company CSC had trouble the first year or so but they did pulled they're quality up.
The last run (forum knife) I assume after the employees heard they were closing had some issues for sure.
The CSC's I have are at least as good if not better than GEC.
I'm very happy to see CSC is trying to come back. :D

I was so happy to see that they were coming back. I have quite a few of theirs and am very fond of them and looking to have a few more.

Looking forward to the Raffir Corn Husk Pinch Lockback. I like the stainless steel & modern handle material. I hope they bring back the canittler.

Bugdoc,
That Eric's Jack is super SWEET! How long ago was it made? Also, any idea what it's original cost was? Thanks.
Larry
