Limited Edition Tyrade

Keep it simple! It's a great blade and the alternate handle isn't a step down, it's a user. I like tipdown myself, but if tipup as an option is no budget buster, OK.

The sooner we know who will have them and when, the sooner the dozen or so of us here tonight can buy them all up.

ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha

ohh i like that one boy!.....ryan:thumbup:

anyone get tom krein to do a regrind on a composite blade?

Thomas confirmed the blade is what it is, they are spare blades effectively. What you see is what you get. And I really like what I see.

I was talking about coating the liners. That's why I quoted you. Besides a DLC coated blade would'nt be very different.

Also see post #34 ;)

Looks great to me!

Stonewashed is great! Don't bother with the bead blast.

As long as it is a user, why not drill and tap it for 4 way carry? It would certainly broaden the appeal.

Would it have the short ZT style clip?

Let me honest Thomas. I just got online and there have been 3 1/2 pages of posts before I got to this thread. I didn't read any of them! I don't need to. All I know is that I would LOVE to see this blade make it to production. Period. I love the simple elegance of the photos you posted. I want at least three. One for the safe, one to USE, and one to mod:thumbup::thumbup:

Excellent idea.

I was considering a tyrade before but I like the look of this one much more, and the price is right. I will have to nab one. Hopefully they are not too limited.

i have personaly seen some one loose a finger from liner lock failure. after seeing that i will never use a liner lock knife.

what knife? Crap knives have crap locks. There is no functional difference between liner and frame locks.

So true, Rat:thumbup:

Just the other day I had a customer of mine come into the tavern that I run, and knowing that I'm a knife nut he showed me the "cool" knife he got from a buddy of his for his birthday. It was a frost cutlery liner lock with flames on the handle. I operated the lock one time and told him, "This knife is going to cut you. It's made from really crappy materials, and the fit is horrible! Throw it away and I'll give you a Kershaw Leek from my collection."

OOPS!! The very next day he comes in and shows me a huge gash across the pad of one of his fingers. He didn't listen and sure enough that thing folded on him. He's since thrown it away. Trust me, I would NEVER be concerned about having that happen to me with one of Kershaw's liner locks. Not all liner locks are created equal!!! Kershaw's are some of the finest available;)

DOH!!
Brian, that was a private conversation!!!:D And besides, who says I make any money at my real job??:p

Yes, next time you end up in Northern California the drinks are on me!! That's a promise. Ooops, sorry Brad....like I was saying, I cannot wait for this version of the Tyrade to hit the streets if and when it does!!:o

Lol. Guess it isn't private anymore.:p

Too bad I never make it up to Northern California.

THis knife looks fantastic, but I have just one comment - Four-way clip mounting would help. At minimum, would it be possible to get a reversible clip?

How about G10 in brown (like the origional) or od green.
If it will increase the $ then, black it is.
Also, a low ride clip would be good too.

I still want a tyrade, but this one will make a nice EDC knife as well. A nice cutting, slicing knife. Just what I like.

Got to catch up on vet bills, and medical bills. These really top shelf knives at such a low price make all the difference in the world. The difference between buying, and not buying.

Can't not pay dr's that have to treat you again in the future. Vet bills? Forget that. Finn gets fed and taken care of. Like the Shallot S110V, much knife for the money. Also, the difference between getting it, and not. Joe
