The way that's phrased, it almost sounds like all 6 knives are $150 total! :) Too bad it aint so !

Beautiful knives Mr. Norfleet!

If it weren't for all the negative info and vibes in this thread, I would really want one of these. I hope all works out well for all parties.

I was hoping for good news about Mr Norfleet, did not want to sound negative?

Not pointing a finger friend. Sometimes a deal is what it is, no matter what people say it is. Nobody seems out of line here. On the contrary, most seem more than patient.

I didn't get to come home on the day I planned but I am home now and I have it worked out with Home Health to come to the house and help me with the IV antibiotics. I am feeling much better and everyone's knife will ship out on Saturday. I apologize for being slow this time but I got to take it slow with the PICC line iny my arm. Everything has worked out great with the sheaths and knives and I hope there are no hard feelings even though all the comments both good and bad are justified. Everyone on this forum are the greatest people that I know.

Good to see you're feeling better Mr. Norfleet. A lot of folks in your situation would give up and quit; I admire your determination. You make an excellent knife for a very reasonable price. Hope to see your knives for sale here for a LONG time, and maybe someday I might be able to get one myself. :)

Hope your health continues to improve!!! Good luck to you! Thanks for making such a great knife!!!

Glad you are home, a much better place to convalesce I'm sure, here's hoping for a quick and full recovery. I too have an outstanding order with Gilbert, he has answered my emails in a timely fashion (given the circumstances) and explained his situation throughout, even offering a full refund of money paid, but I have decided I will continue to wait until he is feeling better and can complete the knives. His work is excellent and worth the wait, IMO. Heck, if I order from some big name makers I'll have to wait one or two years and possibly longer anyway. Granted Gilbert does not have the name...or price...these makers do but his knives are very close in quality, if not there already. Get better fast.

I can definitley see myself buying a Norfleet knife in the near future. Good health to you and I look forward to seeing more of your knives here on the Bladeforums.

Guys, I can completely relate to Gilberts health issues. When you are laid up like that nothing matters, not work, not puppies, not even a Bikini model with a gallon of baby oil and a winning lottery ticket. I have seen photos of Gilberts work and am inspired by his character in dealing with his difficulties in life.

I ordered a custom knife that I designed with him and can't wait to get it, although I know the line is long.

I stumbled across this thread while looking for photos of his work and just wanted to share a little perspective.

While I appreciate the perspective, my/our situation isn't just a single delay, it's the constant string of excuses that I have a problem with.

Besides several ones I posted earlier, take a look at some recent posts by Mr Norfleet on this thread. Like the one posted two weeks ago stating we'd all receive our knives or a refund in 10 days. Guess how that turned out?

Or the recent one stating they would ship out last Saturday.....

It's not just 1 delay or excuse, it's many different ones to many different people, all spread out over a series of months. Bear in mind, we/I was told all the knives were finished quite some time ago.

It's also that he's done this in the past to other people. This certainly isn't the 1st time he's "been ill" with paid customers waiting.

What REALLY gets my blood boiling is everyone is sympathetic to Mr. Norfleet, not the people who's money he took.

Jack Crain seems very similar to Mr Norfleet. A maker of gorgeous knives that ships his knives far later than he says he will. People vilify him, yet praise Mr. Norfleet

How about this; Send me a custom knife and I'll agree to pay you for it. Only instead of paying you, I'll tell you a half-dozen different reasons over several weeks and months why I haven't been able to mail your payment, despite the fact I'm well enough to deal with others, run a website, have "a friend" sell + ship my stuff on E-bay with my name + account, etc, etc.

How long would it take before you called me out on it?

Edit---Forgot to add. The cherry on the top of all of this is that Mr. Norfleet had NEVER contacted me when he missed a ship date. It's only after I sent him an E-mail or posted on this thread, that he would deign to respond.

I'll second that. Although now, I am in this to see how long this goes on. I have put aside the fact that my money is gone and look forward to being able to ride along on this crazy trip. If I ever do get a knife from Gilbert, I will be shocked. Excited to hold his craftsmanship in my paws....but shocked never-the-less.

Right on! I can't bail out now either. I've got to see where this is going to go. Gilbert told me yesterday that they are now finished and will be on the way!
