I'll take a stab at it, Ren. DngrRuss1 likes Cold Steel, to the point where he has appeared in a "Proof" video of theirs, even to the point where HE questioned MY sexuality in a post of his in defense of Cold Steel (remember that, DngrRuss1-pot calling the kettle black now, BTW-I'll quote it if you want to see it again). DngrRuss1 considers himself to be a rational man. Ren, you don't like Cold Steel, therefore, your hatred of Cold Steel he considers irrational. Simple as that.

BTW... as you guys have pointed out, I am new here.
I don't have thousands of posts or a Gold membership.

No, I don't really care. In my opinion, all that ever went on there was show-n-tell and lots of back-patting, which loses its luster a couple of days in. Much like some people here, they are afraid of open-minded thought processes and almost always resort to childish name-calling.
Then when the tables are turned, all Hell breaks loose and everyone gets their panties bunched up in a knot.
You can go on all day calling me a "noob" or a "troll" or criticizing my use of Capitalization.
I Use Capitals the way I Want to use them, and thats to give my words a little more Punch when I want to. (...deal with it.)
I realize that in your Eyes my opinions are Wrong and your opinions are always right... and in that aspect, there isn't much that anyone can say that would be construed with any sort of Realism.
Fact of the matter is... All these knife companies are just out to get our Money. If any one of these guys does anything to shine a little brighter in the knife community or in the public eye, its just for the Almighty Dollar.
Lynn Thompson makes crazy videos.
Sal Glesser produces niches and then fills them, I.E. a Crayola inspired assortment of FRN handles on the same knife so that he can sell it over and over again.
Mick Stryder Lies... Etc. Etc. Etc.
Its all for money.
Arguing with you guys is useless because most of you are either in charge here or long time buddies with the guys who Are in charge here.

Once again, Tomahawk23 starts a bunch of crap and then whines "I'm a victim".

Seems to be a common theme everywhere he shows up.
 
I have owned coldsteel products, bought them when I was 13ish.
I loved(and still love) some of cold steels older products.
Still have a few that see nothing but dust.

People(including me) dont like LT because he is a tool, LT is to the knife industry as Donald Trump is to realestate.
He also spreads rumors about other makers just to inflate his buisness.
Isnt he the one that was going around telling people that infi is aus-8?

And responding to one of tomahawks posts, coldsteel doesnt make ANY knives.
Even their "legendary" carbon V was made by Camillus.

I do very much remember that. In fact, that was kind of the point. I took a shot at you. You questioned my integrity and essentially called me a liar, so I took a cheap shot at you. I was also reprimanded and chastised by mods and other members for it. I also apologized for said remarks.

This actually validates my point about LT. When said comments are made about him its all laughs and chuckles here with no one reprimanding.

A rationale dislike of a company or its members is fine. Many here have stated a rational point of view displaying such. I step in and comment when said hatred goes beyond rational and either misinforms or is just insulting.

And Ren, as for the Strider thing- LT did something brash and bold. He knew going in that he would make a lot of people mad when he did so. But I do know that he has received a lot more positive response then negative from folks from the average knife buyer to real "operators". Most of them did not know the details until LT put it out there, since the knife mags were busy calling Strider a Rock Star instead of what he is. LT put himself out there because he thought it was the right thing to do- asking himself the question, "if not me- then who? If not now- then when?"

Ren, your hatred seems actually fairly rational. I know that I will never change your mind, and I will not even try. Irrational to me is "I hate the company, so I'll make fun of the owner's weight. I hate the company, so I will question the owner's sexuality. I hate the company, so I will imply that the owner has a small penis." Now, really, can't you at least acknowledge that as a rational point itself?

I am not here to pick a fight with anyone. I just think that another side needs to be heard when the name calling and misinformation flies around here.

Look, I am as much of a fan of Mick as I am of Lynn.
LT did that to be a Dick and to again undermine one of his competitors.
Thats just the way he does buisness.

Yea, cuz Lynn sits around his office all day and wonders, "gee, how can I be a dick today and possibly alienate a whole lot of my current and potential customers." That makes good business sense.

Another example of misinformation and assumption about LT's actions and motives. I know, and he sure knows, that this incident, as well as others, are provocative and raise the ire of many people. Even if you don't agree with what he does or has done, to simply say he did it because he wanted to "be a dick" is just wrong.

Yes, he has poked a stick at other makers and manufacturers. Yes, he rankles a lot of people. But, at the same time, he has given tens of thousands of dollars worth of product to military and law enforcement just as an example. Does that sound like someone who is just a dick?

Again, I know LT. I know why he did what he did. And while it is easy to simply label him a dick and mock him, it is just not accurate.

You know, the same argument is offered in courts throughout the land to claim the defendant is a "good person". You know, the same argument was beaten to death by being used again and again to support Mick then Dyane. It's a good thing to support military and law enforcement and should continue...of course where to put that on the Company books...advertising/publicity expense or tax deductible write off.
BTW, I whole heartedly support the decision to out "Berger" and "Poland".
