I'm not sure about that. Perhaps your right, and maybe not. I don't know the rules for getting the great distinction of being branded a Hall of Shamer(if you know where the rules are please post a link)..

IMHO, any he/she that is a member here in this community that perpetrates the kind of behavior regarding this transaction with another member and does not clear it up within 8 weeks time deserves the nomination of inductee into the Hall of Shame!

I'll cast the next vote then and give this a$$hole the nomination for the HOS which is a distinction he so richly deserves.

This is sad. I just noticed that he lives in Princeton. I use to live there. As a mod from a totally unrelates site, I wonder if he knows that everytime he logged on, administrators could see his IP address. Wonder if it was different than his home IP considering he was in South America and all. Just a thought. Sorry about the trouble you are having.
 
People - things happen..... I have had some very slooooow shipping incidents and have waited. I do not know what is going on either - but not all of us live here on the boards. And work can screw up many things.

The man sent his money - he should get his knife or something should be worked out. We are adults - and business needs to be taken care of. But enough of the high moralistic lynch mob approach- we all have our moments. One man has a issue - piling on does nothing to help the issue.

Point has been made - business needs to taken care of between the two of them.

Oh OK, but the guy has had at least a week of being back in the USA and apparently done nothing in that time--not even (that I'm aware of) a "this is what I'd like to do to handle this" email to DE OPPRESSO LIBER. I suppose I'm bit "pil(ish)" due to the use of the out of the USA excuse. I've experienced it and found it real challenging.
If there were a way for mods to verify his location when he was supposedly out the country and skulking about on the boards, that would be helpful. Either way, it seems likely he knew about the problem during that time, and did nothing. Eight weeks is a long time--even in MN, which is occasionally frozen in time.

TurnerIII, I couldn't disagree with you more. MBWirenut deserves everything he is getting. You make excuses for him, when there is no excuse for what he is doing. If for some reason he is unable to take care of things in a reasonable time then he shouldn't have been selling the knife in the first place. He has handled this whole situation in a completely dishonorable manner. He has had far more than enough time to get this taken care of and has chosen not to. Until he does, he deserves every bit of the vitriol he is receiving.

i'm not sure if there are rules for inclusion into the HoS but most of the folks in there are multiple offenders and smith's who take down paymenst and then dont deliver, i dont know if anyone has been put in there after one bad, but like i said it wouldnt bother me to see him in there.

and yes, imho he has had MORE than enough time to get this straight, it doesnt appear he is gonna do that.

But it all just seems more like "burn the witch" mentality going on here. Fine MB screwed up - be it due to work or what ever... Its De Opressos money at risk in this transaction. Mine is not - So I say let them work this out between themselves. And while De Opresso has every right to get upset - his money is at risk - the rest of us are simply to be awaire as far as this transaction goes.

Perhaps there needs to be a Hall of Shame process - to recored events (a public stockade if you will) but some of this Holier than thou stuff is the all too typical internet stampeed lynch mob reaction that one sees on all to many boards.

Why do you think DOL has brought this to light here?. Let me answer that for you.. Because MBw and DOL cannot get this worked out among themselves.

I am going to assume you made the above statements(highlighted in bold) without taking the good time and trouble to read this entire thread and absorb the facts of the case.. Because if one had read this entire thread to gather the facts, any reasonable person would not have made these statements..

Otherwise the balance of your post has some Merritt.

OK, Great. I was just wondering if the was some hard and fast rules for the HOL. I just read SPARK's thread thoroughly and now understand that this is something fairly new and is still evolving. Personally I do believe this is a necessary thing. There have been multiple members/users here that have defrauded others for profit. I don't like it and I know you don't either.

In my post above I said, "I'll cast the next vote" meaning I was casting my vote after yours. Because as you said, you wouldn't mind seeing MB in the HOL yourself.. Thanks for your assistance on this.

I did not mean my post to overly condem anyone - and I had read through all the posts - but the facts were presented and noted. What more needs to be said. I have no issue with his posting this problem - esp after trying to resolve this himself. I have not been burned yet myself (and hope not to) and that is why such posts should help ue be awair of.

I am done - hope this does work itself out and that DOLs businees gets taken care of by all parties concerned.

Sometimes alot more. It's often the amount of attention placed on their behavior in forums like this, that cause those who have not dealt honestly to make it good.

If they know that the discussion will fade off the front page and be let go, they are more likely to continue.

As can be seen in other, similar, situations. I couldn't agree more with you, TLC. Since I've been a membere here I have noticed that quite often a healthy dose of continuing peer pressure is necessary to make a person responsible for a bad deal man up and do what is right. But, as mbwirenut has not responded here, or anywhere to my knowledge, I can only imagine that he either does not care at all or has had some kind of catastrophe occur.

Maybe we can get the Mods to add the letter "E" between the M and the B of MBwirenut's user name, it would stand for: Mails Empty Boxes wirenut. What do you all think of this? As for "work" getting in the way of mailing a package, thats horseshit. You mail the package once you recieve the money. I mail the same day payment arrives, because its just good business. Paul deserves better than this.
 
I had a problem getting a knife from MB on a trade last year. After many phone calls and e-mails I finally got the knife, but it was very frustrating. We agreed to ship on the same day and he also told me he couldn't get to it. Deals should not be made if you cannot follow through and do your part.

I had a great transaction with Marc - have met him in person. I've spoken with him many times over the phone...have plans to hook up with him next time I'm in town.

I have no idea what's going on....but I sure do know what it feels like to screw up and then get lynched online about it. Stuff happens...

I'm not taking sides on this matter. Just stating my experience.

Marc - if you're watching...give me a ring. If there's anything I can do to help set this situation right...I'll do it.


De Oppresso Liber - I'm very sorry this is happening...I know it sucks...big time. I'd be upset too. I don't know what I can do to help....but if I can mediate in any way...I'l give it a shot.
