Now to ditch these ugly 'jigged' Delrin covers and dress it in something nicer.
View attachment 853711 It's butt ugly closed but there's still plenty of blade left to afford good leverage and 'pinchability'.

I actually have a soft spot for yellow delirn SBJs. That jigging looks cool, and the blade clip is flawless! Nice work.

Thanks
I too love the classic looks of the delrin but don't care for the jigging so much. It does make it grippy but feels tacky on synthetic material. Its a good excuse to add some nice wood covers :D

The saga continued. It's now an ultralight fixed blade.

Very cool Traumkommode! I like the G10 liners, I did a similar duo at Canal Street as a possible production set, but unfortunately we closed up before it made it to production. No liners except for the center in the trapper of course, everything else is straight G10:

Wow, I really, really like that smaller clip blade knife. Too bad it never came to production fruition. I don't know if anything quite like it ever hit the market short of customs.

Looks like the single blade is the CSC Boy's Knife frame, right? Same frame used on their barlow and boy's knife, which was a 3 3/8" closed frame. The big question - which steel did you put in those knives? Could it be, perhaps, the 14-4CrMo?!

The trapper blades were 440C, I think the small clip was D2 if I remember correctly, which is sometimes doubtful! lol

Here's a TL-29 mod I just finished up, moved the lock to the spear blade (modified the tang to acccept the lock) and converted the screwdriver to a wharncliffe blade. Handles are camel bone:

Very nice. How many of those boy's knives you got lying around? ;) I really like the thinking behind the TL-29 mod. Nice to have the lock on the main blade, and you nailed the secondary conversion. My go-to on a two-blade knife is to want a clip point main and a straight edge secondary, but that seems like it'd get the job done.

Here's a single blade GEC Tidioute #66 that I made from a NOS Calf Roper Stockman from the 2012 run. I did have to modify the blade a little bit, as this one had a LOT of that "tip protector" steel left on the tip, and sharpening proved to be difficult. Rather than taking it to the sander and blending down the tip to a proper clipped point, I just wore it down on my sharpening stones, almost like the very tip downturn of a Spyderco Delica very popular Seki City made non-traditional lockback, if you're familiar with that.

I had initially planned to make a second knife, a linerless serpentine "half whittler" out of the secondary blades/spring. I may or may not still do that.

I’ve got a RoughRider coming, White bone with the battle axe shield. I plan on dyeing the bone. I picked up a dark brown as it was the plan but grabbed a navy blue as well cause it caught my eye. Now I can’t decide. Thoughts/opinions? Thanks.

So not a big mod here but I cut down the spey blade of the Stone River NRA Trapper from the @mrknife passaround box, turning it into a large Sheepsfoot blade. I did it freehand with only a Dremel cutoff wheel and a file. The nail Nick is not perfect but happy overall with the shape. JTB_5 JTB_5

I think you did a fine job, especially cutting a nail nick!

I reground my Shuffler yesterday and then put a really acute cutting bevel on it. Not perfect, but nice 'n slicey.

That looks great! The nail nick gives it a little bit more modern look, I think. The handle scale is looking a lot better too.

I noticed that the etch was gone. How much did you take off, do you think? All you need now is some birdvisknives micarta scales to go on there!

Did you thin down the blade?

I thinned it a good bit, I don't have calipers but from the looks of it there's about half an inch near the back where it's probably .007" and then the rest is about .012" BTE. I think I'm going to work on it some more later and even it out.

Man, birdvisknives does cool stuff! I've been talking about scales with @HeathH, hadn't seen the birdvis stuff yet. Shadow pattern!!!

His crosscut canvas micarta is stellar, too.
