Mod'ing The CS Trail Hawk

How did you do that parawrap? Is it made like a noose?

Somewhere on these 90 some pages I came across a link to a PDF that showed how the author wrapped his hawks. It is in fact much like whipping a rope. He does have a few tricks that make it easier to keep the paracord tight which is the hard part.

Oh my....time to look through the pages then.

My very first ever paracord wrappings and such :b Could have a better "finish" to it, but I kinda like it raw ;) + it's a tool after all. Pictures taken with webcam, it's raining outside s scenery pics must wait.

I am very pleased with the wrist-cord though!

Nice Parawrap senserazor! Although it's at tool, doesn't mean that if it doesn't look better it won't function. But that is a functional and good looking upgrade! Yes the wrist cord is really nice! Looks like my paracord bracelet.

MAN!!!! This thread seems to slowly fade away!!! :grumpy:
DONT LET THIS THREAD DIE EVERYBODY!!!!! :encouragement:

I'm almost finished with my first mod'... Modded my pipe hawk. Will get pics up as soon as I can. And just got in a Trailhawk to mod' SOON!!! Then I'm on to a couple Spikehawk's. I'm gonna do a Spikehawk set, can't wait to show my work.

Good stuff in this thread! i am lurker down to the bone but this thread not only inspired me to purchase (and mod) a CS Trail Hawk but also to post with a pic! (hopefully).

So far i have stripped the paint , filled the hole , convexed & sharpened the edge and given the handle a couple of coats of boiled linseed oil thinned with white spirit. I intended to etch and then plum brown the head but i am kind of liking it in the raw so may leave it as is. Belt hanging loop and mask by Walkbyfaith777 and very nicely made they are too!
I have also bought a CS Spike Hawk and a 30" handle which seems to work quite well asthetically and when finished will no doubt make a superb wallhanger.

So thanks everyone who contributed to this thread and therefore to my desire to own and mod a trail hawk, which has been very enjoyable so far and even if i dont find a place for it in my kit bag it surely has a place in my heart!

Cheers

spike hawk should be here in the morning, will be begining my assasins creed inspired hawk straight away, already started on the leatherwork but not posting pics until i have more to show. it will be my first adventure into etching so wish me luck, going to be putting the creed symbol on each side of the blade but still cant really decide on the artwork for the leather, stuck between the symbol again or something a bit more based around an eagle. any thoughts?

right spike hawk arrived, 99% of paint removed, haft smoothed sanded & sealed overstrike guard cut shaped & ready for carving as is the lower handle im putting on. think this is gonna be some of my best leatherwork to date.

right a few pics of the progress iv made. i have got the head completely stripped of paint sanded down & polished & fitting nicely on the haft. next comes the etching process but cant quite decide on what to do, im thinking of going down the celtic route as not quite ready to do the assassin's creed inspired hawk just yet.

Modified Pipehawk I did for my brother, all work done by me. Haft felt a lil thin so wrapped it with waxed linen with a turks head on both ends of the wrap. Metal caps on the haft and silver for the inlay. I posted more pictures in the brothers tomahawk thread.

Well your all terrible...

I have a pipe hawk on order from amazon now. Thinking stripped, tiger stripe etching and dark oak stain with some digicam para cord I have sitting under the seat in my truck.

So... I used my Trail Hawk once to cut down 2 trees with a diameter of about 3 inches (decorative bushes/trees) and now the head has come loose...what the hell...Not the "quality" I expected. Any ideas?
