Most Massive Super Strong Folder?

SAM_0533.jpg

That is sick BTW... love the orange.

Maddogg. I did it. Look at post #42 of this thread and see the blurry pics of it. I did make a thread but it's way back I guess. Same blurry pics as you see here.
Yeah I missed it. It was blurry. What type of clip and did you drill the liners or just the handle?

Blurry is a compliment! But I will take another pic with my new phone which has a higher mp rating and takes a more clear picture. But to answer the question, it is NOT drilled through the liners. The micarta is still fairly thick so I drilled the holes in it, let the screw cut it's threads, took it out, filled with JB Weld, put screw back in, let it dry, and it hasn't offered to budge since I did it. Now that I have the equipment to drill the liners, and tap them, I may go back and do so, or just leave it as is.
The clip was one I had laying around, nothing special.

Demko doing a not so little something for me once my turn comes up. It'll be the most strongest there is :)

What sort of madness is Andrew cooking up for you, a double lock folder? What in the world is that, and how could it be even stronger than the Tri-Ad lock?

The most beastly, massive knife I own is my R Flaherty Model 1 frame lock. Makes the strider, or Umnumzaan I have look tiny! Best of all is his price, you could buy a few model 1's compared to a CRK or Strider! You can get one off the exchange here under custom knife makers if you are very quick and lucky! Lotts of times they sell the same minute they are listed!

+1 for the Flaherty, i'm in the exclusive owners club too.
but yeah, even though it has the best price for a custom, good luck on making the "few minute listing" in time.

I know -- that's why I was careful to say 'state' law. And fortunately I don't live in LA with its silly 3" limit either! :)

I believe the law is only for those living within the City of LA (LA proper) even if it has its own name (ex. Hollywood, Venice, Westchester). I dont think that law effects those living in other cities with their own municipalities, but still are in LA COUNTY. There is a difference.

Owning many folders considered tanks I would say Dwaine Carrillo Tunnel Rat or Tripwire, Crusader Forge, Grayman Satu Folder, in that order. Put a in Hinderer XM-24 in the mix as well.

I've been thinking about a Tops CQT 747, 4.5 blade and thick a lot like the Hossom, but tacticool and lighter.

Damn buddy! I really want that Harsey Ranger! I've got a Black Ranger and a Camo Tactical but both have Satin Blade. I like the Black.

Can anyone tell me how to get in touch with "Perter R". It was suggested here that he makes really large folders but I've been unable to find anything on this maker.

Thanks

Disregard, Found it! Sorry

+1 For the older discontinued Buck / Strider 880. ( I prefer the drop point blade )
The blade is a Paul BOS heat treatment ATS 34, 3/16" thick. 4" long with titanium liners, G-10 scales.

I just bought a used CRKT M16 to do some tests with and it seems to be pretty massive and strong. I bought the one with 4" blade and aluminum scales. The scales and blade are certainly thick enough to be strong. I don't know how strong the pivot is. The liner lock is relatively thin but they have their supplemental lock to keep the liner lock from failing. I hope it's strong because I want to do some informal stabbing tests with it- both wood and sheet metal.
