My experience with Ann_Dem

hi guys, i was directed to this specific thread from knifenetwork... jeez, you guys got my face red, like i was caught doing something wrong! :-)

i don't have a collection of knives, no knives for sale, but i have built 3 kits and am looking to build more.

i am interested in the theft portion of vlad/ann-dems dealings. were these knives purchased from dealers or makers with bogus money orders, etc? or from theft, like stealing something from my garage? i assume purchased with bogus money...

is there a list of stolen knives (other than the for sale lists of the aforementioned personas) so makers and collectors can find their missing goods? serial numbered knives would seem like a fairly specific item to be peddling if stolen, especially given the rather small audience interested...

wow gig i wouldnt want ya after me thats some real detective work imho, good work!!

i also was interested in some of ann_demms stuff but it being x-mas didnt really have the cash to spend but if it was in jan or feb i might have.

if the knives she (it?) was selling are stolen will authorities be looking to retrieve them from the buyers? man that would suck losing the $$ and the merchandise but the owners do deserve there property back.
 
That was probably one of the longest threads I've read that only covered about a weeks time. Incredible props go out to you Gig, that was some crazy detective work! I spend most of my time on "knifeforums" so I was completely blindsided when I saw the link in the for sale thread over there. I hope that the mods for bladeforums have contacted the knifeforums mods to try and get this person off of all knife oriented forums and to keep this type of debacle from happening again. Gig, if it wouldn't be too difficult I would also like to know the backstory of "Vlad Pavlov", my e-mail should be listed in my user profile.

I've contacted Mods and Admin at the major knife forums.
 
Gig One: You are awesome!! I think it is also great that you contacted other Mods & Admins at other sites!!
 
Pavlov obtains his knives by international credit card fraud. See Store Owners & Sellers Beware for details.

Connecting a knife to the dealer it was stolen from would be difficult even with a very rare knife -- with most of the knives he's stolen and sold certainly impossible.
 
:o Given that my one previous post in this thread was along the lines of: "Why don't we leave poor Ann Dem alone" I have to admit my own embarassment and regrets if I in anyway influenced anyone to purchase from her/him and my profound admiration for the digging which GigOne did to sort this out. Well done!

While we are at it I want to thank Jhillas for helping to spread the word and some details on tracking Vlad to other forums.

Just banned impure who was Ann/Vlad returning.
 
:thumbup: Well done to all for unveiling this POS for what they are. I know about Vlad from here and British Blades, I know the damage done by this low life and good on you all for letting others know the truth before somebody else got stung.
 
She 'ignore' listed me, Gig, and Keith in this thread. He he he! We were not her disciples. Look at this thread below, and my reference at post #6 from September of this past year. Gig followed up and smelled blood early on. This all was really no surprise to me, but sure impressive in the work it took to link them up.

First ann_dem suspicions.

After she tried to humiliate Gig, he let her know that you DON'T play around with him!!! Gig, you deserve to be on an exotic caravan paraded around town as a King. :thumbup: I'd be one of the ushers.... ;)

Wow. some of you guys have magnificient noses for detecting the early stages/odors of POS-itis!!!

Damn coop; post #6 in that thread makes me think you too are using a false name and in reality you are Kreskin!!!! Are your balls crystal Coop??:p :p ;)

BFC is a great place and it's because of all the good guys here doing all they can to maintain a safe haven for us. Afterall, we are all certifiable or already certified as insane for our obsession with knives and the amount of money we are willing to spend for something we will probably never use.

And man don't we just love to have 30 or 40 EDC's!!!!!!!:eek:

ann_dem definitely picked on the wrong person. Unfortunately, it appears that most of the knives that were stolen have been sold. It's a real shame that the person that came here quite a while ago and told us that ann_dem was Vlad, didn't take the time to produce the proof that Gig found.

Undoubtedly Gig deserves all the credit he is receiving for exposing this parasite. However we should also thank Peter, who started this thread when he suspected that "Ann" might not be as honest as others were claiming. I also wish to apologize to Peter since I posted on the first page of this thread that I felt that "Ann" had done nothing wrong based on the evidence presented up to that point. It appeared to me and several others that Peter was unjustified in posting this jeer. Boy were we wrong :foot: This just goes to show that you should always trust your gut feeling and intuition as Peter did.
