My experience with Ann_Dem

If you guys were selling tickets to this show, you would have made a mint. Better than any dinner theatre I have ever been to!:D Seriously though, I hope someone has some luck prosecuting this guy/girl/????. I just joined up a couple months ago and it's great to see that maybe someone will have my back if I get screwed somewhere down the line. Good hunting guys, and good luck with the legal ramifications of all this.

Got it....Stut up I think with the broken English and bad grammer. I think I will just go away and forget a board of losers that need to protect the market place and keep it to themslves.

See ya.

Don't let the door hit ya.

I confess, I bought the abalone Centofante from ann_vlad, thinking the whole deal was legit.

I would have never bought something that I knew or even suspected was stolen.

Hell, I even left positive comments about our transaction...

I deserve 30 lashes with a wet lanyard.

Since you were unwittingly duped yourself, I think it would be fair to remove the inner strands of the paracord.:D

This is a perspective from a maker that has had knives stolen and never recovered (they did not pertain to this thread however ).

I am not chastizing anyone or suggesting how to run your lives.

How many of you that have knives obtained from ann_dem that are of questionable origin are going to step up to the plate, do a bit of research and return them to the rightful owner if possible? There are some high dollar knives that have been pictured in this thread made by folks who depend on knives for their living. I know that those who purchased will take a loss but the 1k or more that the makers lost hurts also. I know I sure would like to recover the knives that were taken from me.

Just my .02

Not sure what you're saying here. Are you saying the people who bought knives from ann_vlad should just send the knives to the rightful owners (if it's possible to find them)? Are you saying the purchaser should take the $$$ hit? I don't think that will happen. I, for one, no longer have the knife I got from ann_vlad.

I was involved in a similar situation exactly a year ago, got some blades on EBAY, found out from the maker they were stolen in the mail to/from the heat treater. I sent the blades back to the maker who promised to make me a few finished knives in exchange for them. That was a year ago and I haven't seen a thing. So far I'm out $350.

The people that purchased knives from ann_dem are not at fault in any way for what happened. I just wonder though if any of them will be able to enjoy the knives they purchased when they think of how the knives were originally obtained. I know I sure as heck wouldn't be able to.

I agree 100%. Last year after I found out the blades I got were stolen, I told the knifemaker that I didn't want to keep them and I wanted him to have them back.

Judge Judy would say that if a person bought a product at "fair market value" and did not know that it was stolen the original owner does not automatically get anything back unless they pay the current owner for it. At a price the current owner sets on it. I agree with her although it is very unfortunate for the original owner/maker.

Judge Judy has no clue of the general integrity of the knife community.

Anyone who can enjoy a knife from Ann does not get it and never will.

Oilman, you are a good egg and I have respect for you, but no knife collector that I know should be able to apply law to this situation and think it is OK to own a knife that passed through her. We don't stop at "law" we go towards what is right and shun that which is not right.

From my experience, even if the knives I have were purchased legit by ann/Vlad, law or no law they do not belong in my collection. No way could I look fellow collectors and makers in the eye next time I saw them.

I'm going to send an e-mail to Judge Judy ! :D

More important. . . .how in the hell did she come into play ?

We just found out the 20,000 acres that you live on along with your house was stolen 200 years ago from the Native Americans. You're being evicted on the 1st of January.

I am not implying that any person that purchased a knife from ann_dem did anything improper. I just think that those that may be in possession of knives of questionable origin should investigate and do what is right if possible.

Personally I think ann-dem should be eliminated from the face of the planet for being a POS .

Another big problem with the whole thing is the Credit Card Companies that allow this scam to be perpetuated and not allowing for any recourse. There are lots of entities that allow this to be perpetuated. In a sense they are all at fault. But in the end it comes down this fact. There may be one person that can right a wrong in this whole mess and it is the person that is in possession of a knife of questionable origin.

First, I wouldn't keep them myself but that's a personal judgement issue, I also wouldn't think too badly of someone who kept the products as they had no part in the theft and paid good money for them. I'm pointing out that legally people that own stolen property who didn't know it was stolen when they bought it, and paid a reasonable price for the item, have no legal obligation to repay the person who was originally robbed/defrauded. With knives or anything else. It's more of a personal ethics dilema.

Second, thanks for the egg comment.:D Sometimes I get a little scrambled and can be hard boiled at times too but I'm tryin.:)

Not that one of us is right or the other wrong.

Personally I feel obligated to turn the transaction I had around in some way. It is just a little more than business or law to me, but I am a knife mush-head anyway.
