My first Kizer

Hi, phxgadgets:

Sorry to see that clip snapped, I'm still waiting for the shipment of parts to arrive in CA (the first few shipments are all knives). Please make a note to contact me in a few weeks to see if I have the replacement clip for your Kizer.

Thanks.

Kizer.

I myself am waiting to hear how comeuppance's next purchase goes and if he seems satisfied i'm going to give it another whirl only this time i will use the same dealer
that most seem to use as that was not the case with my original purchase.
I got mine quite a bit cheaper than every where else that i have seen and i'm wondering if there's any corolation... although i doubt it, but i would love to own another that actually flips as i loved everything else about it and it felt so natural in my hand
So i guess we'll see, looking forward to hearing what he has to say as that's the model i'm most interested in at the moment.

And I'm back with a report!

I went through Knifeworks as they had the best price and are small enough to listen to customers. I asked for them to ensure that the lockup, centering, and pivot action were flawless.

It flipped open snappily with no wrist action and had perfect lockup out of the box. I then did my traditional breakdown / cleaning / washer-polishing and re-lubed it with Nano-Oil. It's now SILKY smooth - probably because of the ceramic detent ball.

The bad news is that it's a little off-center towards the presentation side and the blade isn't as sharp as I would like. It just needs a good stropping, in all likelihood.

Hey there, I contacted you guys about recieving an extra set of screws and I never got a reply back. Will I get an email when the extra parts arrive?

Also, since you are getting knives shipped to CA, does this mean we will be able to buy directly through your website in the future?

I sure love my kizer's, I took my first stab at electric anodizing my 3404 last night.

Came out nice!:D

Lol, thanks fish. I wanted to go for multi-colored but I was using Pepsi, gator clips, and 9v batteries (lol ghetto annodizing) so I couldn't get enough power. Planning on getting a power supply soon, but the blue is pretty satisfying.

Kinda reminds me of a Bradley alias now.

Wow, that blue does look good! To date I have been using a hand held butane torch to anodize things like ti clips. Ghetto anodizing would be right down my alley. I read about it somewhere on here and may dig it up again.

Btw, I also have two Kizer's, the large Glenn Klecker design 4411, and my favorite, the Gingrich GTI, which has been my primary carry since I got it. Also have a third one coming soon, the Ki5401A2. This is one of the bigger Kizer's I've seen so far with a 4.1" long X.177" thick blade, and a weight of 8.4 ounces........all just the way I like them! And it will be my first all ti framelock from Kizer.:)

Thanks! I was the same way until last night.

I found this video of a kid anodizing ti and I immediately knew how easy it is: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YOV5A22t4oY

However, I stuck seven 9v batteries together rather than 3 in the video. A total of 63 volts (might be less since a couple batteries were used), which translates to light-blue titanium. I don't know how the kid got blue with only 27 volts, maybe because he used TSP?

The batteries run out fast, so make quick work but be safe too.

This may help too

Hi, blues bender:

Which email did you use to send the request to? I checked but did not see any emails come in requesting additional parts. Please send me an email at kizerATtbt-gd.com or through the email message system here at BF (goes to the same email address), you can even use the visitor message system and I'll keep a tally on hand.

I don't have any parts (only whole knives) on hand at the moment, which was why I mentioned a few weeks lead time as I wait for the parts to get here.

Kizer does not sell directly to retailer consumers at the moment, only to dealers and distributors. If this changes in the future, we will definitely make an announcement. The warehouse in the US is to better facilitate warranty swap (no repairs) and to shorten the order to inventory time for our dealers.

Thanks.

Kizer.

I sent my email to kizer.williamzeng@gmail.com

It's nice to see you guys having a warehouse out here in the us also; much better than dealing with overseas shipping for warranty.

That is a nice shade of blue! well done, sir!

Thank you! It means a lot :D especially since it was my first try

This Tim B. Knife looks familiar.... just cant put my finger on it.

Do a little digging. You will find there is a reason for that. Ill let you decide for yourself as to why Mr. Brittons recent work is so much like Kizers. Or is kizers work a lot like Mr Brittons? Like a tootsie pop the world may never know. I do know that this would not be the first time Mr. Britton has been accused of buying and assembling imported kits and passing them off as his own customs. Given those past accusations and the fact that even his "unique" hardware designs have been used in higher end chinese knives for years now has me suspicious.

Yeah I thought the controversy was just the one model... then I saw the picture I posted and was like heyyyyy looks like my kizer lol!

Hi, Guys:

Let's not derail this thread with this particular direction of discussion which has already resulted in the closure of one thread. We have given our story before and it remains the same.

Thank you.

Kizer.
