Need to lose some weight....who's with me?

Lora and Silas,
Thanks for checking in. Don't lose the faith, you are heading in the right direction. Just keep plugging along and the results will come.

(at least I hope so as I'm in the same boat ;) )

:D:D

I'm noticing that clothes are fitting a bit more loose in areas and I'm seeing muscle definition in areas I hadn't before. I'm think I'm going to step away from the scales for a while and see if I can be surprised by a bigger number of pounds lost in a month, rather than checking it a couple times a week. Stay strong and keep chugging along. The results will come.

I need to lose some weight. I stepped on the digital scale at the VA yesterday and immediately had the urge to pull everything out of my pockets and take my sweater off to try and make the number go down...

I think we all have been there. :p

I know this thread has nothing to do with cutlery, but it's probably my favorite thread to date (though I've been away from the forums a few months). The fact that you guys are posting your progress, just makes it that much more motivating, becuase getting compliments and hearing from other people how your efforts are paying off, just reinforces why you're getting fit in the first place. Rock on guys, and keep updating with progress. Throwing in exercise helps as well--the two really do go hand in hand. Cheers (with water:D)!

Weighing in.

(2-17-14) Starting weight: 199.25 lbs

(2-24-14) current weight: 193.5 lbs

I was hoping for a bigger drop after what I've put into it this week but have realized that 5.75 lbs is pretty good for a week.

5.75lbs is VERY good for one week. Just make sure you aren't starving yourself lol. I'd aim for 1-2lbs/week, and do my best not to go over or under (weight should ideally be lost at the same rate that it was gained).

Update: Saturday morning weigh-in
2/21 ........ 273
3/1 ........ 262
Congratz on another HUGE loss. 10lbs in ten days is a lot.
George and Matthews,
Great Job for both of you, keep it up.

I have to admit I'm not getting the results I'd hoped for or the one's I've seen in the past. However, honestly I haven't kicked up the activity as I have done before.

I lost another 2 lbs last week, for a total of 9 since I started. Not bad, but I usually did that in a shorter period. I'm currently at 186, shooting for 170-175.
I'll keep plugging along.

:D:D
2lbs/week is exactly where you should be. If people are losing more, it's either the result of a DRASTIC change in diet (which is expected, and good as long as youre not skipping meals), or it's just because the person just started dieting (biggest loss is usually the first week or two, then things level off a bit). Keep plugging along, brother--1-2lbs/week is ideal.
Just changing my eating habits from stuffing my face to portion control has helped a ton.
Three weeks in and down about 8lbs.
Awesome, keep it up!
After three weeks I'm holding steady with a loss of four pounds. I'm thinking that I'm going to have to up my game as well. :(
You're doing well. Weight loss is not an easy thing, especially for people who aren't used to it. Basing results on a week or two is discouraging. If you stick wit it, you'll naturally become stricter with your diet, and in time, your body will transform completely. Keep on rockin!

AROO!! I've been getting the Spartan WOD emails and am really trying to find the courage to do a sprint, but those burpees intimidate me. Good for you for signing up! You'll have to post about your experience.

For anyone who doesn't receive the WOD from Spartan Up, the next 30 day challenge starts tomorrow and consists of at least 30 body weight squats a day. Who's with me? Anyone can do squats and it's only for 30 days. Let's do this!! AROO!!!! Below is a link to their Facebook page for the challenge.

Lora, I don't have the book of face so you will have to keep me updated on the new challenges.

I'm in. Thanks for the link and the challenge

I'm trying to push Josh to do more than just a few squats once a day...team building! Yay! So far I've been doing the squats and burpees everyday. What are you bringing to the table Josh?

Well I have taken the 30 day squat challenge and made it the 3 30+ day challenge. I am doing 30 squats, 30 sit ups and 30 push ups. Then every day I add 1 for each.

Congratulations to everyone who is reaching their weight loss goals!

I checked the scales at the gym last night and was elated to see that I was down a total of 10 pounds. I did a little happy dance right there in the gym and hopped my happy self onto the dreaded treadmill (AKA the dreadmill) for more cardio. Keep up the good work everyone! Every little bit counts.

Okay, Saturdays are my weigh in day. Got on the scale this morning, dropped another pound. Down a total of 10 lbs right now. Not catching the world on fire but honestly I'm not doing much besides avoiding snacks and watching my portion size.
I'll just keep plodding along and get to my goal eventually ;)

:D:D

I'm going on the Atkins Diet, the Mediterranean Diet and the South Beach Diet. I serious about this and am hitting it aggressively.

Ok i'm in :D .... I have been on a diet for 7 weeks now but i still need to loose 25 pounds before Blade.
